It could be that a reply is in respond to the post one before the reply,but by the time the reply is posted someone else could have replied jumping in the space so the quote does still help to make sense of post replies.
The signature issue,I wish admin would come up with a better idea.
We would have no need to merge posts etc,the way things are at the moment with the size of some sigs it makes a lot of sense.
A lot of the time we get a reply of few words followed by this repeated massive sig.
It is only posts by the same member in succession that's merged so it should be of little inconvenience as possible.

Exactly ... and sometimes when posting you are responding to a post that may have been intended for someone else, but you can add your spin or humor to it ...
I understand the sig thing completely ... and I have been trying my best to remember clicking on successive posts .... but I am blonde after all ...
maybe a suggestion ... move that next to the reply button ....
