For example, say you started a thread and my contributions were a little misplaced and you found them to be offensive and disruptive. isnt it better to have the option to stop me from replying to that thread instead of stopping me from taking an active part in the rest of the debate section where i can debate on other issues? an overall ban from a website is a bit harsh for slighty annoying a fellow poster.. dont you think?

If I started a thread and your contributions were a little misplaced and I found them to be offensive and disruptive, I could just as easily ignore you as you could annoy me. I don't wear my feelings on my sleeve. I grew up a long time ago. If a person would abuse a thread, then that person could just as easily abuse the forum. An overall ban is not harsh at all. Hopefully, it would help that individual in their own growth and improving communications with others. The alternative to an overall ban could be a two week or one month suspension. I know if I was suspended for a length of time, it would give me time to think about my own bahavior. I respect your opinion.
