Recently in Australia there have been several images of children under discussion as to whether it is pornographic or not. When children are the subject matter the rules change and the term pornographic is broadened.

One of the images I’m sure you have all seen is from the Miley Cyrus photo shoot.

An Australian photographer named Bill Hensen recently had photographs confiscated by government officials.

This is latest entry into what some people are calling child pornography is from an Art magazine that is funded by our Federal government.

Art Monthly July 2008 Number 211

The editor of Art Monthly has taken a stand on the difference between art and pornography and that’s why he included the picture of a naked 6 year old girl on the front cover of the magazine.

I have no idea if the painting had a nude child subject to paint from so I can't say if it is a real child in the painting.

One of the points raised by the art world is that the Master Artists of yesteryear included naked children and these contemporary photographs and paintings are less graphic than paintings hanging in the most prestigious galleries around the world.

Personally, I find the Miley Cyrus photographs to be the most pornographic of the three links I supplied.
