Perry pushed hard for the I-69 Trans-Texas corridor that would have taken a swath a half mile wide all the way across the state, and given it to a Spanish company to build a mega highway, rail line, pipeline, etc. through the state, wiping out town all along the way. The Lege was so incensed by this that it passed veto-proof legislation to block it, and if necessary, eliminate the Texas Dept. of Transportation so it couldn't be built. He has been anti-education, anti-casino, anti-health care, anti-border protection and so forth. That's why Ann Richarson is giving up her very safe U S Senate seat to fun against him.
