I am against the burqa For several reasons:

For safety. (i once tried one on just to see how it feels. well it's heavy, it's extremly warm, when you breath you have the feeling like you are having a scarf around your mouth.,...and you can't see things very well because of the net)....the same counts for the Niqab. (which is almost the same as the burqa except the net before the eyes)

But the main reason FOR me....is because to my opinion it's female oppression and has nothing to do with religion but rather with culture.
As in most muslim countries women do not wear burqa's or niqabs.
And why does a woman have to cover herself up to be "safe" against men? For not to be seen as a sex object?
And here I was thinking men were the "Stronger" Sex. Men should learn to control themself. The problem is with them. Not with the women. But I guess that counts for every religion.

I can't speak for other muslima's because I guess everybody has their own reason to wear what they wear. But I prefer to see someone's eyes and face when I talk to them. The Koran says that we have to wear decent and we have to cover up modest. But where is the line of decent and modesty? A nice sweater and skirt/pants can be decent as well. And if you want to wear a veil....please do....I also don't mind the hijab because the hijab shows the face and if she wants to wear it then let her.

BUT!
For muslims in Western countries. I think burqa's and niqabs are way too much. One of the things muslims are not supposed to do is to attrack attention to themself. And I think you get lots of attention walking around like this......and I personally have a problem with that. The same as I have a problem with Western women going to Egypt or another Arabic country making camel rides while wearing nothing but a bikini.

You looked damned cute in it though lil' miss p...
