Wrestlezone

Posted 05-09-2009 at 01:05 PM by Vinnie
Well Friday 8th May saw the latest visit of the wrestlezone guys to Aberdeen. Since there are now three of them working with me I agreed to go and take gwen and Alex with me. Stephen my nephew is a big wrestling fan so I told my sister I'd take him as well.
The only problem was I was closing the shop that day and would have difficulties getting from the beach to home and back into town to the show in time. Accordingly, I asked Suzikat to take the kids in then home. As expected after a crappy week Fiday evening was rather nice and as a result we were slightly pushed to get everything tidied away and I was running behind. In fact I was running so far behind that I headed off without pulling down one of the window shutters. The shop was secure but.... Luckily Martin phoned wendy to tell her and she was at the show too so when I arrived Suzi took my keys and headed down to check the shop. She left Cassie with me but told me to phone if she did not like the wrestling.
The show was held in the Summerhill Hotel a place I'd never been to but had a light airy room and they needed every seat with a crowd of some 100 plus there. The card started with Jonny Lyons against Ian "Die Hard" Morrice. A decent enough match but the slight build of Ian Morrice did not really challenge Jonny properly and the heat generated by Ian was not convincing but certainly Gwen Alex Cassie and Stephen were enjoying it. They were jumping up and down screaming and yelling with the best of them! Mind you, so was I.

Then Siquo made an appearance. The orange one was facing Chaz Phoenix and led to the ring by Andrew. He capered around to much laughter with his slapstick style and gifts to the audience going down especially well. This was a match done purely for lauchs and not serious in the least. It was well done with Sisquo making a fool of Chaz until he was caught and taught a thourogh lesson to. It was a necessary match since the bad guy won. If he had not then there would have been a great expectation that the good gys will always win and this would not have been good for the show.
