Hey Dad,

Do me a favor and label this "The Marine" and send it to
everybody on your email list. Even leave this letter in it. I want this rolling all over the US; I want every home reading it. Every eye seeing it. And every heart to feel it. So can you please send this for me? I would but my email time isn't that long and I don't have much time anyway. You know what Dad?I wondered what it would be like to truly understand what JFK said in His inaugural speech.
"When the time comes to lay down my life for my country,
I do not cower from this responsibility. I welcome it."
Well, now I know. And I do. Dad, I welcome the opportunity to do what I do. Even though I have left behind a beautiful wife, and I will miss the birth of our first born child, I would do it 70 times over to fight for the place that God has made for my home. I love you all and I miss you very much. I wish I could be there when Sandi has our baby, but tell her that I love her, and Lord willing, I will be coming home soon. Give Mom a great big hug from me and give one to yourself too.

woman and an antiwar protester in a Metro station in DC

"There were protesters on the train platform handing out pamphlets on the evils of America.
I politely declined to take one.

An elderly woman was behind me getting off the escalator and a young (20ish) female
protester offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined.

The young protester put her hand on the old woman's shoulder as a gesture of friendship and
in a very soft voice said, "Ma'am, don't you care about the children of Iraq?"

The old woman looked up at her and said, "Honey, my first husband died in France during
World War II, my second husband died in Korea, one of my sons died in Vietnam, a Grandson
died in Desert Storm, all so you could have the right to stand here and bad mouth our country.

Open Letter in Support of America's
Armed Forces

To America's Armed Forces:

Since the deliberate attack on our countrymen on September 11, 2001, you have been deployed around the world and have demonstrated that you can win both the war against global terrorism, and the peace in formerly inhospitable places like Iraq and Afghanistan.

The effects of the liberation you won in Iraq and Afghanistan are reverberating throughout the region: Afghanistan and Iraq successfully held their first democratic elections. The Saudis will hold municipal elections. The theocracy in Iran is in deep trouble from the liberation movement there. Jordan is accelerating market economic reforms. Qatar is reforming education to give more choices to parents. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded for the first time to an Iranian -- a Muslim woman who speaks out with courage for human rights, for democracy and for peace. And we saw representatives from the region at the 2004 Olympics as "free men and women."

When we examine the events of the world today, the words of George Washington's First Inaugural Address ring strangely true: "The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty, and the destiny of the republican model of government, are justly considered deeply, perhaps as finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people." And now the preservation of that sacred fire is passed on to Iraqis, Afghanis, and others, thanks to your faithful defense of the Republic.

You Patriots -- American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coastguardsmen -- have plowed the ground for these events. We remain the proud and the free because you have stood bravely in harm's way, and remain on post today. For this, we, the American People, offer our heartfelt thanks.

Open Letter in Support of America's Armed Forces

140865 Republics win wars. Thus is the verdict of history, and this truth has not been lost on America's Armed Forces. In the current war against Islamist terrorism, they have been called upon to defend our republic and to promote its virtues in an ideological struggle against those who would destroy it. As Thomas Jefferson once said, "Although a republican government is slow to move, yet when once in motion, its momentum becomes irresistible." Jefferson spoke truly, as evidenced in the actions of our nation's military in the years following the deliberate attack on our countrymen on September 11, 2001. Since that time, U.S. forces have been called upon to wage war against Islamist terrorists in every corner of the globe: Afghanistan, Iraq, the Philippines, sub-Saharan Africa and other places around the world.

The Bush Doctrine of preemptive action, possibly the most singularly significant addition to American foreign policy since the Truman Doctrine of the Cold War, has resulted in a deployment of the U.S. Armed Forces unparalleled in some 40 years as our nation combats the threat of global terrorism. And through their actions abroad, America's Armed Forces have demonstrated that they can win not the war only, but they can win the peace as well. We remain the proud and the free because Patriots -- American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coastguardsmen -- have stood bravely in harm's way, and remain on post today. End the Unconstitutional Filibuster

Given the present Senate impasse over the President's judicial nominees, it must be said that this debate is not about a "looming Constitutional crisis" -- we are in the midst of perhaps the most serious Constitutional crisis in more than a century.

For months now, Demo-gogues Harry Reid, Teddy Kennedy, Bobby Byrd, et al., with the help of their Leftmedia minions, have railed against any effort to change Senate procedure regarding judicial filibusters. Historically, Senate rules allowed for unlimited debate (filibuster) until 1917, when the rules were changed to allow a two-thirds vote to close debate and call for a vote. In 1975, the rules were changed to allow 60 senators to invoke cloture. At that time, Ted Kennedy said, "Again and again in recent years, the filibuster has been the shame of the Senate and the last resort of special-interest groups. Too often, it has enabled a small minority of the Senate to prevent a strong majority from working its will and serving the public interest."

Indeed, but Republican and Democrat leaders know that filibuster in the case of judicial nominees circumvents the constitutionally-mandated full Senate vote for judicial nominees. Clearly, the Democrat strategy is to keep constitutional constructionists from reaching the Supreme Court -- opting instead to advance judicial activists who would legislate their constituent agendas from the bench by diktat. Of the latter, Thomas Jefferson wrote, "The Constitution...is a mere thing of wax...which they may twist and shape into any form they please."

Act now to stop the Democrats assault on our Constitution. Demand that Senate Leader Bill Frist and Republicans take necessary action to ensure President Bush's judicial nominees are voted on by the full Senate as prescribed by our Constitution, and not held hostage by Democrat filibuster.

Petition to Investigate and Indict John F. Kerry for acts of treason

Though John Kerry has an extensive and well-documented record of anti-American activities over the past three decades, it is his acts of treason in 1970-71 that are the subject of this petition for indictment. Our appeal notes both Kerry's violations of the UCMJ (Article 104 part 904) and U.S. Code (18 USC Sec. 2381 and 18 USC Sec. 953), and calls for his disqualification for public office in accordance with the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, which states: "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President ... having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

Why prosecute John Kerry now? In October 2003, Mr. Kerry chose to make his Vietnam war record the centerpiece of his campaign for the presidency; this has been especially true since his primary victory in March 2004. In response, more than 165,000 signatories of the above-referenced petition for indictment have made his war record the centerpiece of their campaign to disqualify Kerry from public office. We understand that no action is likely to be taken on this petition until after the 02 November election. Be it known, however, that on 03 November, we will seek full recourse in an effort to have John Kerry prosecuted for acts of treason and disqualified from any future campaign for any national office. We are thus committed to holding Mr. Kerry accountable for his actions, as there is no statute of limitations for acts of treason.

Let us take a minute to remember the brave men and women of the Armed Forces, who are serving to keep us free. They are willing to give their all, and even to die if necessary to preserve this land of liberty. Men and women who must leave friends and family to proctect ordinary citizens like you and me. They give up the comfort of a nice warm bed and may not even have a roof over their head. They sit in strange places and eat their daily ration always on call to protect our nation. There may not be a whole lot that we can do But we certainly can take the time to say THANK YOU!
