this was a very good poem. i lost a child six years ago and it reminds me of her. I have a poem that was read at her funeral. here it is:

"I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine" he said. For you to love while she lives and mourn for when shes dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty two or three. But will you till I call for her, take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charm to gladden you, and should her stay be brief. You'll have her lovely memories as a solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that she will stay, since all from earth return. But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I've looked this wide world over in my search for teacher's true. And from the thrones that crowd life's land, I have selected you.
Now, will you give her all your love, nor think the labor vain. Nor hate me when I come, to take her back again.
I thought that I heard you say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done. For all the joy thy child will bring, the risk of grief we'll run."
We'll shelter her with tenderness, we'll love her while we may. And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.
But should the angles call for her, much sooner that we planned. We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.

This poem means a great deal. It is very sad, but yet very true. My daughter would have been seven years old this October. She is very loved and missed. I love you Samantha Ann.

i loved both of the poems. they both touched my heart. I could never imagine how you feel after loosing your child. I pray that I never have to go through that my son is my whole life. I only wish that nobody would have to go through loosing one of their children. I am so sorry for your lose.

thank you for your comment. it is very hard to lose a child. my daughter was only 29 days old when she died. she died from SIDS and it is very hard. thanks again. buffy.

Good post homeinspec. I interpret that as an adult
who is dying & saying goodbye to thier child.Thats the
whole point. We will see them again some day,on the
other side.Very touching,inspiring.That was deep.

Thumbs up Homeinspec poem

I really enjoyed your poem. It made me think of my dad. He was everything to me and I miss him each and everyday. Thank you for your wonderful poem. It helped me know that even though he is not here physically with me, he is still right beside me, in my heart. Thanks again.
