Unhappy

WOW! those poems are deep, you know my mother left my dad when I was bout three years old and i never met him. All I have of him is a picture to remember him by and all the things my mother says to me about him. Unfortunately when I went to Purto Ricao a few years a go to go c him I found out that he had died from aids, so therefore I just live with the pain that my daughter will never meet her "real" granfather.

Also my stepdad died from liver cancer becuase he was an alcoholic and that was painful........As human beings we have to endure major pain to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope your pain has eased with time as eased with time............................

Thanks, homeinspec, that poem kindled thoughts about my parents & grand-parents - good memories! And thanks also to buffychick - I don't personally know your pain, but I can commisserate with you.

Goodbye to a Child

Dear one come close to me
My sight is dim, it's hard to see.
Don't cry for me my dear,
For the highest choir I hear.
Wipe your eyes and make them dry,
For it's time for the last goodbye.
I know it's hard to understand,
But I am heading for my promised land.
Time will heal your broken heart,
For in time we all must part.
You see my race of life I've ran,
Like time in a glass is just sand.
Stay strong and form a solid stand,
As I go please softly hold my hand.
The time is near, life grows dim,
Soon my spirit will be with Him.
You see my child, all things must end,
Like the bowing limbs in the wind.
To you I leave the leader of the pack,
It takes strong shoulders and a mighty back.
You must run the race of life alone,
I will bless thee from a higher throne.
My sight is gone, my life grows dark,
I'll be with you in the song of the lark.
My child as my spirit passes beyond this part,
Keep my love, held deeply in your heart.

Both poems were wonderful. I didn't realize how deep you could be homeinspect. Thank you both for sharing such personal sides.

Well thank you all for your kind words,,and I also enjoyed the poem from "BuffyChick",,yes I am a very emotional OLD FART,, ,, but thats is OK who say's men can't be emotional,,

I had lost my Father, Grandmother (both of cancer) and my brother (w/aids,thru a blood transfusion),all within 3 years of each other,,,thats why when I went in for surgery I donated my own blood to myself.

Sad part is,, we were All very close and only ones left now is my Mother (88 excellent health) and my Uncle,(so so health),,and I am unable to work or get around too much with my health problems from Viet Nam,,,so our family is almost gone,,Sorry,, didn't mean to ramble on so much,,,
