crown of thorns upon his brow,
His body so striped and bloody,
what more could they do now?

Lamb of God, Son of Man, Messiah,
God's only Son.
I look at all those gathered here;
My God, what have we done?

A sense of shame pervades my soul,
"He's innocent! " I cry.
What can I do to save the Lamb
who died for such as I?

The crowd hurls insults at the man,
derision in their cry:
"Son of God! King of the Jews!
Come Down, let's see you try. "

But Jesus, He stayed on that cross,
Compassion in His eye;
"Forgive them Father, for they know not! "
was his impassioned cry.

A righteous God; He had a plan,
for death was the demand.
As Satan had filled this world with sin
and infected all of man.

With Love, such Love, He sent His Son
To Earth for Him to die;
To redeem the lost, the sinful, and yes,
to rescue you and I!

This story has not ended yet,
He conquered death and sin.
And Satan, well he has no hope,
'cause He'll fight him and He'll win!
alive because of the cross and what God has done for me...my works are as filthy rags...by faith i am redeemed

through Grace we are given the gift of everlasting life, the most amazing thing I've learned in all my studies was how horribly He suffered, it's said so flippantly, He suffered and died for me, he didn't just suffer, he suffered horribly, who am I that He would be willing to do that for me? for God so loved the world ...

An expert painter known of old
approached his canvas blank and cold.
His brush held power to design
the vision of a master mind.

He dipped within himself then drew
the dry land green, the heavens blue.
The waters gathered in one place,
the sun, the moon and stars in space.

He drew the land the strength to seed.
He drew the seas the might to breed.
He drew the winged fowl of the sky,
then drew them bless to multiply.

He gave to night and some to day
the creepers, cattle, beasts of prey,
to roam and play, to sleep and eat,
but still His work lay incomplete.

So from the dust He drew a man,
but there was no life in his stand.
So painter breathed into His form
the breath of which man's soul was born.

Then rested He from work well done,
an expert painter, matched by none.

We read, we hear, we sing of Heaven,
No sorrows, no tears, no burdens to bear;
A Mansion to Saints, will be given,
But, what must it be, to be there?

No pain, no trials, no darkness of night,
There will be Praises lifted by Prayer;
We'll be with Jesus; He is the Light,
But, what must it be, to be there?

All will be Joy, Peace, and Love,
With never a disappointment nor care;
Somewhere, in that happy Home Above,
But, what must it be, to be there?

No sickness, no death, no evil to allure,
Our Faith here, will be Sight there;
In Heaven with Jesus, we'll rest secure,
But, what must it be, to be there?

The Bliss will someday, be complete,
When Saints meet Jesus in the air;
Then, we'll bow at His nail pierced feet,
But, what must it be, to be there?

Our loved ones, we again shall meet,
Victory and Praising Jesus, we'll share;
The Supper of The Lamb, we'll eat,
But, what must it be, to be there?

God did not have to give us
the beauty that we behold.
It was not required of Him
to show how His glory would unfold.

He could have given us dirt:
with no sun, no moon, no rain.
He could have placed us in a world
all ugly, black, and plain.

But God loved us so much more than that;
He did not want life to be bland.
He spread sunshine on this world we know,
and green grass across the land.

He planted flowers in the open field,
and trees on the rolling hill.
He shattered the night with moonlight;
sprinkled sparkling stars at will.

He scooped the deep blue ocean;
with His finger carved the stream.
Placed the bluebird on the sheltering branch;
gave us life beyond all dream.

He breathed life into every creature
from the greatest to the small.
Created man in His own image
that on God's name he should call.

When man turned his back on the Father,
God did not leave him lost.
He gave us the choice to come back to Him
when Jesus paid our cost.

The greatest gift God gave us
was the blessing of His Son,
Who gave His life on Calvary,
so our salvation could be won.

If you give your life to Jesus,
and release to Him each part,
He will flood your soul with happiness;
give you peace within your heart.

God gave us all these things in life
that our eyes to Him we would lift.
Then He gave us life eternal
through Jesus, His Greatest Gift.
