This Oath pertains to the practice of medicine. A transgender surgical procedure is an elective body alteration which could be akin to tattooing or body piercing and have nothing to do with medicine, therefore, should hospitals even be involved. As far as the media attention goes take a look at individuals such as Opra. She sensationalizes everything and just because people watch her show, they think it is alright. We could say the same for other media shows such as "Extra", etc. Why do we even pay attention to the gossip. My take on the media hype is that we should completely ignore these deviants. They are not worth the press and make no mistake about it, the individual involved in this surgery is a "she", "her", "female", "woman" and should not be referred to as a "he", "him", "male", "man". I consider all sorts of information before forming my opinions and yes Joe I did read and I did comprehend what other people had to say, I balanced my reading by researching both sides of this story.

Just because my moral, ethical and social views are different to yours doesn't mean I haven't researched the issues nor does it mean that I don't understand the issues.

Joe it is people like you that permit deviants who are the minority in our communities suck up our medical resources in front of more deserving people like returned soldiers.

Have you heard the stories of wounded American soldiers who have to beg for treatment for their war wounds ?

Who cares about the soldiers or the elderly and infants who need urgent medical treatment ?

I do not disagree with you Joe. My point was any reassignment surgery is elective and is not a medical necessity, therefore, a doctor should not have performed reassignment surgery. It was basically a body alteration was what I was saying. I do not feel that people who make an issue of their sexuality whether homosexual or lesbian deserve the publicity the seek or get. The media has nothing better to report. For example, take Ellen DeGeneris. I really don't give a rat's ass if she is a lesbian and furthermore, I could care less about her marrying a woman. She may do so but it is not worthy of the public attention she seeks for it.
