A transgender man from Oregon says he is five months pregnant, according to gay rights magazine The Advocate.







I was not certain whether to post thios or not.
I was reading the Sun the other day (and that's why I did not know whether to admit this) when I saw a full page article about the chap from Oregon who is 5 momnths pregnant. My point for debate is not whether he should have gotten pregnant but what concern of ours is it?



The child will have been born into an unusual family situation and children are cruel. They will pick on any difference here is. Now if I had seen photos of this chap before I'd seen the headline I'd have thought he was a bit porky but nothing else. Once the child was born, he's going to look like a man and the child could have had a quite normal life. Now the childs birth will be paraded through the media for the titillation of the public rather than for any good that cn be done. Any chance of annonymnity is gone. What concern is it of us in the UK that someone 6000 miles away is pregnant? Sometimes I just despair.

seeing as he is still a woman it is his/her right to have a child if she/he so wish it to be so.
The child will wonder and go through a lot of pain, however, children are absolutely amazing at accepting and they are a lot stronger than we think.
In a way i think this is a little easier than the *mum* to have a sex change or whatever when the child is older..
The child will be loved and treasured cared for etc it is of no concern of mine as to how it will be brought to the world

We've just had the law changed in England,before there had to be a male partner before a woman could get treatment at a fertility clinic,now that's no longer needed.
The MP's said that before it discriminated against Lesbians,so the law was changed and now Lesbians can get help to have a baby too.
Obviously the same rule would allow help for transgender male/women too.

This story has been all over the news here but lately I haven't seen much on it.I guess the intial fascination is over and now we won't here much until the baby is born.I think this couple released this story to preempt one of the gossip rag papers but I could be wrong.I have no problem with them having a baby if they want but I do not need to know or see it on the news.After all,technically she is still a woman.I do agree with you that this might be unfair to the child but with a little luck by the time he/she is in school,people will either not know or will not care and the child won't be treated badly.

I'm not hereb to argue the rights and wrongs of the pregnancy, he still has the sex organs so could get preggers by a good friend and a turkey baster, technically.
It is more the media coverage. Does it add to the sum of human knowledge and should we encourage such coverage. It's done purely to sensationalise a private matter. When the folk at work were looking at the pictures one lass who is Polish and whose English is not too good, did not understand the article and just tought of it as a pic of a rather stout man. It is the media coverage that will harm this child. After the birth the Father will merely look like he has had a sudden weight loss.
I understand that the child may need to be told but that's a matter for the parents not the worlds media. The guy's in Oregon for christsake! What is an article doing in the Scottish Sun. It's only there as some sort of latter day freak show which does nobody any good!

Until recently I had been of the opinion that what people do in the privacy of their own home is none of my business. As with a few other things I've decided I may as well speak my mind on this issue too.

Sexual deviants are becoming the NORM in our societies. I’m not about to suggest a vigilante group round up the gays, lesbians, transgender and bi-sexual people and run them out of town but enough is enough, heterosexuality is the NORM so how about all you deviants from minority groups keep that in mind when you want to dip into and of the social welfare systems that are paid for by hard working heterosexuals.

When it comes down to the point that my taxes are being spend on a circus freak I have to say that individual rights do not outweigh the rights of the majority of the community.

No more transgender operations until every pensioner has that hip replacement or no ex armed service person has to wait for a prosthetic limb, I could go on about people who are more deserving than transgender freaks.

What sort of society do we live in that we even allow this freak to have that sort of operation in the first place.

The doctors who performed that and other operations should have been practicing standard medical procedures rather than making modern day Frankenstein Monsters.

When this baby is born the both parents and baby should be put in a cage on a travelling side show so everyone can see how far down the road of Sodom and Gomorrah we have travelled.
