$1.05 so far today. Figure it's better than coffee.
LOLBut seriously, I figure that we can't know what happens after death, so I am mainly just concerned (but not too much) with what we do while we're here. ![]() Quote:

You got me pegged for one thing...I did skim a lot of the long-as pointless posts of yours only because you seem to be preaching.
SEEM is the operative word. No, I did not catch your religion or Doctrine, but I do know that you have some kind of ego problem. No dude, I really do not. But my love of communication can cause run on's. ![]() I try to tell you that you have a closed mind, and you respond with 3 huge ass posts that I don't have time to read explaining only the religions that are taught thoroughly in high school. Heythere, basically, unless you make a new one up that has millions of followers, those are your choices. Not my fault, you wish you had more selection. ![]() Now, I may be wrong about your knowledge of world religions, but I see a problem. I was defending the Satanist from your sterotypical views and you accuse me of calling you a Satanist. We definitely have a language barrier problem, dude. ...never said such a thing. ![]() I don't know where that came from, but I think you got little crazy there! Now my arguement all along was that religion should be what you make of it, you would know this if you didn't just skim my short posts. I peruse...... ![]() If a Satanist believes that murder is wrong, then he/she will not do it unless they are idiots...where would that leave that person. they believe everything about Satanism except the murdeing part, and still wants to be a Satanist. That is my dilemma, and probably some others' as well. Maybe even you, you may believe everything about your "Doctrine" except one or two sayings. I KNEW a woman who was into that stuff. Thankfully she left, and is Christian. ![]() Which two sayings don't I believe in? pst...the bible SEEMS contradictory, but really it was the language of the time.... ![]() By the way Patrish, I am sorry if I offended you, but I was just trying to stick up for the soft-spoken(although I am one). Don't take what I put in these posts too seriously, as I am more open-minded than I make myself out to be. Maybe too open minded, my dear, which is the problem in the world today. Sorry, I do come on strong, but that is a fact. Hello, Freaky, been reading your posts. . Very astute, and pretty amusing. O, and thanks for the back up.

Why, thank you.
![]() I just had to jump in. Sometimes people are more con than confused, and I get a little irked. Even Shakespeare had enough sence to say "Unto thine own self be true." ![]() Quote:

Well, I think it is silly to argue about religion. I dont consider myself any religion. I go to a baptist church and take my kids there. I consider myself a christian. I read and follow the bible. We are supposed to follow as closely to God as possible. I also think all religions have their good points and none of us are to say if they are wrong or not. If we do that then we are judging and the Lord says that is a sin.

Does anyone at all see the significant problem of the decline in church attendance?
Why is it significant? Let me give example of what the beginning church was like. They led ppl to form a group (Church) in homes, or in caves to avoid the persecution, while the 'CHURCH' was still young. They would administer the 'COMMUNION' daily, and they hid to build these communions.....of saints. The apathy today really is accute. Let's consider that we are weak alone, but strong when united. You cannot say you are a basketball player, if you havent picked a ball up in ten years. You cannot say you are a golfer, if you never set foot on a golf course. So, why do we title ourselves but do nothing to make it real? Statistically speaking, 60% protestants do NOT attend church. and 50% Catholics do NOT attend church. Consider the stats, and then consider the apathy, then consider the shambles of immorality our nation faces. Also, consider how little people understand anything about religion. O well, I suppose it is just another sign of the times.

You make a very good point Patrish .... but there are those who believe that they don't need to attend Church in order to assure their faith in God.
I for one pray all by myself and I do it everyday ..... to me a religion is something that you should be within your own heart .... between you and God .... but it sure does take alot of self discipline but once you get into a routine than it becomes as naturally as breathing ..... and I think that's why I don't go to Church ..... I pray often and alone that way no one elses thoughts get construed with my own conversation with God. But that's just me Last edited by sharkangel; 06-03-2004 at 10:49 AM. |
