I thought that Eve was the original sinner, as she ate the forbidden fruit first, and then tempted Adam to do likewise. How does she get off the hook?
Let me guess, was it due to Horty saying Adam was the 1st...?
I suppose he was referring to the 1st man who sinned, Comparitively then to Christ.

Christ was the 1st man/God to take away the 1st sin of the world. Bringing Forgiveness.

IT took two to bring sin, it took two to take it back out thru forgiveness. NOW we can argue Mary's role, but without her it wouldnt have been possible to bring Jesus into the world.

Not many realise the Immaculate Conception refers to St Anne's conception of Mary, and not Mary's conception of Christ.

Her conception in the womb was called Immaculate because she was kept from sin in order to be prepared to carry Jesus. {Who was to be the spotless lamb for sacrifice}

That is why she was without fault, as compared to Eve, who brought the 1st sin...
Being the 1st person to receive sin into the world, Mary was the 1st received sinless into the world to bring forth her son, the perfection of God and man to bring in Salvation at the cost of His life as opposed to Adam who yielded us mortality with Eve in the 1st place.

AND you are so correct T...and JB...labor is NO friggin party.
Neither are our other 'problems'

Well, labor is more than pushing a watermelon out. Its the dang 'muscle spasms' or muscle CONTRACTIONS that I cannot even begin to explain.

Here is the BEST way that I can tho ...

Um... try feeling like you have the most excruciating diarheah.. but you also feel constipated. Then multiply that 30 times in pain.....

There ya go... That's labor for ya.

Like we really NEEDED to know that!
How about describing multiple orgasms, now that we are going there.

Well, like as if you NEVER ever wondered... LOL

BUT we all came into this world the same way, and it's not a dirty issue.
It's life, and how we all came into being...Thru the pain of childbirth by women..{Mentioned in the Bible ~ BTW} and we deserve some respect for enduring that in our assistance to help our Lord bring forth more souls that will {Hopefully} Be with Him again...in the end.

Orgasms...now thats another story.

Hehehehe, and I will go one step further for those who really and truly wonder...

Go buy laxatives, take alot....
and wait til you start cramping up really bad...
and make sure you take alot, for full effect..

NOW when you have that awful pain like ya better run....
DONT...hold it in for an hour and let the pain ride on....
OR for the strong ones....hold it for several hours....

IF cramps cease..take more laxatives.....LMAO!

Muhahahahahah hehehe

It's life,
And that is why our grandmothers wouldn't even say the word "pregnant" in mixed company? Or why there were so many code words created to describe that condition and the act that created it?
Or why women always undressed in another room and wore 10 yards of muslin to bed?
And why we didn't tell our kids why mommy had gone to the hospital?

It's life for the Indians, but a guilt trip for the Euros.

BTW, I dont educate my young kids on this....but since we are all mature adults...

I have to ask tho....How come after over 200 years you still make distinctions between Indians and Americans and or refer to them/us as Euro's?

Quote:

And if I can add...maybe the Indians should appreciate their women more.. This includes their mothers and wives.
Nothing to do with guilt...but appreciation for the women who gave birth.

Your mom may have never once told you about how she felt...BUT all her life, she remembered the labor and the 1st time she saw you...as she held you to her.

That is an almost 99.9% surity.

AND anyway Tsalagi......where exactly did you lose your sense of humor...cos frankly I cant seem to find it.

There's a number of distinctions. How we raise our children, our respect for our elders, how we view nature, and on and on and on.

And if I can add...maybe the Indians should appreciate their women more.. This includes their mothers and wives.

Where did this thought fall out of the sky? Who said we didn't respect our mothers. In a matriarchal society our women were respected long before the whites. Our women had the vote and in fact the veto power to prevent war hundred years ago. American women got the vote when? Can you say the 1920's? That's not making sense at all!

No disagreement here!

Maybe it's when you get on your soapbox and give "feelings" as facts and try to sidetrack the issues . . . like this! What does this conversation have to do with anything?

Ah, there it is. I knew it was around here somewhere!

I meant respect what your wives and moms went thru...

Ok, ya better keep that sense of humor, might not be able to get another one if ya lose it.

I am married to a hunter, and he deeply respects the gr8 outdoors. I personally like it ok, but getting sunburns, and bit by mosquitos, and having bears and coyotes around, doesnt make me feel at ease.

Exclamation offered up for our little group of friends

An Evening Family Prayer

Lord, behold our family here assembled.
We thank you for this place in which we dwell,
for the love that unites us,
for the peace accorded to us this day,
for the hope with which we expect the morrow;
for the health, the work, the food and the bright skies
that make our lives delightful;
for our friends in all parts of the earth. Amen.
