a small percentage of them type churches do the snake thing...mostly Appallachian Mountain area.....but yea, speaking in tongues is common place (there is a few that seem to do it too often and sounds alike each time) but when it's genuine you know it...you feel it...and you know if IT's (He's) talking to you or not!!
Like I've said before, I HAVE been on the church floor quivering and crying, and have been spoken TO in tongues....havint had the priveledge of speaking (yet)!!!

The Torment of Unrequited Love
A second source of Christ’s suffering in Gethsemane was His own privileged knowledge. Jesus knew how useless His self-sacrifice would be for the many individuals who would knowingly reject His offer of salvation. Jesus had nothing to gain personally from coming to earth and redeeming the human family. He did it solely out of love — a love for His Father who looked with mercy on the fallen human race. A love for every person caught in the vicious circle of selfishness. Jesus knew that sin doomed man to a deep, existential frustration. What every human heart needed above all else — intimate friendship with God — became unattainable.

1 Corinthians 12:27-31: St. Paul tells the Corinthians that God has given many types of gifts to the members of the church: being an Apostle, prophet, teacher, miracle worker, healer, helper, organizer or being able to speak in tongues. But no one person receives all of the possible gifts. And all members do not receive the gift of speaking in tongues or the gift of understanding and translating what others speak in tongues. HOWEVER>>>>>: 1 Corinthians 14:14-19: Paul downplays the importance of speaking in tongues. He said that he would rather speak 5 words that people can understand rather than 10,000 words in tongues. .....................1 Corinthians 14:27: St. Paul instructs believers to restrict the number of people speaking in tongues during a religious meeting at one time to two or, at most, three individuals. He also instructs the church at Corinth to provide interpreters - people able to interpret the message to the congregation. If no interpreter is available then St. Paul instructs the believers to remain quiet during the meeting. All told there are 35 passages in the Bible that relates to speaking in tongues. The shortest verse in the Bible, "Jesus wept" is only said that one time, yet we accept it as fact......... GodBless OH!! Guess I didn't answer...."Yes, I believe."
