Our image of Jesus is heavily influenced by the Victorians and their mass produced images many of which were produced for a propaganda purpose or to pander to the masses. Heck the guy was a carpenter can you really see him as having long hair to get caught up everywhere and nicesoft hands?

According to what the Bible says as where He lived who His ancestors were etc, the most logical explanation would be that He probably had a "Mediterranean" or "Middle Eastern" skin color which is neither white nor black.

How could you tell if he was jesus..there were thousands of people claiming to be the son of god and what have you.. you couldnt say " look for a man with a crowd around him"..cos you would be talking about anyone...

I reckon he looked like the weird guy who lives around the corner who is a nobby no mates and tries to impress people with his vast knowledge of nothing.

It's more possible. If you go all the way back to Adam and Eve and the patterns of how people traveled and developed, The Garden of Eden was in Africa somewhere. Which means Adam and Eve were most likely black. People evolving and changing as they moved away from the center.

I never thought of Jesus as "white", since both of Adam and Eve and Jesus' race were talked about when I was Young and went to church. Rationalized out, we were told that Jesus would most resemble people in the mid east.

I found it much more fascinating (and more meaningful) that no one in all the other religions every took a smack at Mary. Virgin woman gifted by God to have His child... Unlikely. Woman cheating on husband before wed... happens every day. I might just have been reading though western filtered goggles, but if there are such claims out there I'd like to see them.
