DThunder,

Nice to see you posting.

Regarding the 'virgin' conception...it goes way back. Look at religions prior to Christianity they all were conceived by virgin birth, born on Dec 25th, all reference three kings (acutally celestrial formations) pointing to the 'brightest star!' Take a gander in google what have you search engine wise and it will bring a 'hole' new 'light' on the common origins of oh so many religions.

Regards,

James

PS A social scientist is on youtube and I will try to find and post if Spanky feels it is appropriate for his thread.

I never thought of Jesus as "white", since both of Adam and Eve and Jesus' race were talked about when I was Young and went to church. Rationalized out, we were told that Jesus would most resemble people in the mid east.

I found it much more fascinating (and more meaningful) that no one in all the other religions every took a smack at Mary. Virgin woman gifted by God to have His child... Unlikely. Woman cheating on husband before wed... happens every day. I might just have been reading though western filtered goggles, but if there are such claims out there I'd like to see them.

Dammmmmmmmmn....I like how you think and reason...

That makes a TON of sense...and you have backed it up with rational thought....plus, the Mary thing makes sense too. Like, sure, we'd all like to think that our moms never had sex with anyone but our dads, and that it was only the once...to conceive us...but, come on...reality says otherwise.

Maybe that could be another thread...."Did Mary sleep around?"

Thank you for posting, and please feel free to post more often here...

I try to, and tried to msg you back but you're all blocked off.

True, but even in modern society where there are so many religions people still refuse to make that blow against Christianity, even Jews who did not believe Jesus to be Gods savior.

Some Christians believe that Mary stayed a virgin her whole life. That I find completely foolish and unreasonable. A married woman NEVER having sex with her husband? I could, however, believe that she stayed a virgin until she gave birth. Jesus could have had brothers and/or sisters (which they have made a few movies about) which makes that all the more interesting. Is there a living descendant of Jesus?

Not much is said about Joseph either, which is odd, nor the young adult life of Jesus. So much is left out, which is sad. So many questions and no one to answer me

Yeah...I'm pretty sure that she put out. The question is...how often, and with whom?

And was Joseph really her first?

As you said before, the "immaculate conception" might actually have just been some (or lots of) pre-marital sex...and so not wanting to get kicked to the curb, she told Joseph that it was the Christmas Star or something...

I wonder if the pregnant teens of today have thought of that.

Well, I think the cool thing about religion, and being an adult is: You can believe whatever you want to believe. Sadly, (to me) too much of it is just based on blind faith, and too few people who call themselves "Christians", actually ever act very Christ-like. Or, at least, that is my own personal experience.

A few do, most do not.

The way I understand it the virgin bit was added later, maybe when they was trying to change the view of those who worshipped the pagen goddess with the same image.

So are you saying that whole bit was just a fabricated story for the purpose of social engineering...?

going to church every Sunday does not make one a Christian anymore than parking your car in a garage makes you a mechanic lol
