Hi Flynn...
Smoking may have started as a "recreational" thing for me, but now has been more of a monkey on my back, and I wouldn't say that I do it for fun. I quit, I start again..... I get halfway through a cig. and say "yuck...gross !!" ....but here I sit having one with my coffee. It's definitely an addiction to nicotine, and if I go more than 5 or 6 hours, I'm craving the nasty boogers again. I quit when I was pregnant about 20 years ago, and didn't pick the habit up until about 10 years later, so I know I can do it.... I CAN DO IT !!! lol... Maybe right after this one. ![]() xxoo |

I believe it depends on what type of person you are...I used to smoke pot on occasion, and not because I felt I needed it, but kinda just because at first, I wanted to try it, and then later, if I was at a party and was going with the flow. I don't really smoke it anymore (because I didn't like how it effected my behaviour, and how I would react to things), though I have had a toke or two at the odd party, and then felt no need to do any more. I had also done coke a few times when I was younger (and less reserved), and I didn't get hooked on it either. Maybe I'm just lucky in that sense. Then again, I don't even keep alcohol in my house...I'm not sure why...I guess maybe that gives me an excuse to go out for a drink...? And besides that, I think we all need our vices, and fortunately for me, I already have mine...which is porn, God Bless it.

I admit that pot left me less than thrilled but speed.... I have been clean for 26 years now lol but the craving is still there So now I pop a 357 magnum & slam it down with a huge can of Monster Gets the eyes open each day til I can catch up on my sleep on Friday nights & Saturdays. But by Wednesday night lol I need that lift to keep me awake on the road

yeah, I guess if you do a lot of driving, then you would want to be wide awake for your time spent on the road. I remember when I drove across Canada to Ontario, I got some caffeine pills...haha...and made regular stops at Tim Horton's (for coffee and a quick bagel) along the way, as I was trying to get there as quick as possible, but still safely.

Keta The recreational part disappears from most things once you are addicted. Hang in there and keep fighting it. From my present personal experience I can tell you that if you really have to give things up you can do it. I gave up cigarettes years ago and I know I could light one up right now. That's more psychological than physical addiction to me now. Stress............. What will I do ? Light up a cigarette, open a can of Fosters like Kipper suggests go buy a McDonalds Hamburger and get it into me as fast as I can. Not that I drink Fosters or buy McBurgers but there are other things just as tasty and just as nasty to our bodies that I have recently given up. You get a big enough scare it's easy to change your habbits. |

Moderation some times depends on the individuals personal make up. I know friends of mine that are Friday night users of most of the drugs you listed and they don't go near it during the week/weak time. |

And a friend of mine smoked ciggies all weekend and not during the week, but I think these people are an exception to the rule, and I take my hat off to them. But you only have to look at the likes of Amy Whitehouse and Pete Docherty to see what the results usually are.
