My son is closing 22, and living the music industry. I've told him the horrors I've seen, and the heart medication I have to take now, but I'm so uncool...

If it wasn't so readily available, those with an addictive personality wouldn't eat pills like his band do! - Scares the shit out of me, because I know what I put my mother through when I was smoking heroin....

Which for the record was 20 odd years ago...
CB, many years ago I used speed almost daily because of the long hours I was working and never did it lead me to anything else..It never became addictive because when I changed occupations, I never took another another one. Also I have know truckers that have taken them for many years and never went to any other drug...Nice to see ya again sweetie...

Please yourself whether you dare or not.

You did drugs to excess now your paying for it with heart medication and a son that pays no attention to your personal horror stories.

Strange how things work out for some people isn't it.

*There is no "civil right" to do what is wrong or harmful to yourself, your family, or your society. The facts show that legalization is a mistake for America because: Illegal drugs are more addictive and dangerous than the legal drugs alcohol and tobacco, which is verified by thousands of scientific studies. Legalization would result in more crime such as driving while intoxicated; child abuse, including child pornography; random violent crime; and a prosperous black market. Legalization has no economic justification. Taxing illicit drugs would offset only a small fraction of the social costs. Banning illicit drugs is not like alcohol "Prohibition." Drug laws reduce abuse and the medical costs associated with abuse. Legalization would do the opposite. Other nations have learned that liberalizing drug policies only leads to more addicts and unacceptable social consequences. Illicit drugs offer no offsetting health benefits. Rather, marijuana damages most major body systems and provides minimal help for glaucoma victims and only when they are constantly stoned. Cocaine is far more addictive than alcohol, and marijuana is at least 10 times more potent today than a generation ago.*

SS

I was talking with one of the guys at work today about the strength of marijuana.

You're probably right to some extent about the strength being stronger now than it was ten years ago but in the discussion today we both agreed we used to get off our faces and enjoy it more then than now.

Ice

To be more relevant to this conversation the cut and paste I added at the bottom should be titled " Who is Ice ".

What is "ice"?

"Ice" is a street name for crystal methamphetamine hydrochloride, which is a powerful, synthetic stimulant drug. Ice often appears as large, transparent and "sheet-like" crystals but may also be coloured (often pink, blue or green). Other street names for ice include "meth", "crystal meth", "shabu" and "glass".

That is why I didn't understand why you asked about my name. Crystal Meth is completely different from speed..The only thing they have in common is being drugs..That would be like me asking you if smoking dope is how you got the name Flynn...

The only reason that I agree with the fact that I enjoyed it more back then than now is because I don't smoke it at all now, haven't in many many years, and from what I remember from that one time that I did try it.....I was soooooooo cool how could I not have enjoyed it?
To legalize it, in my opinion, would be social suicide. Illicit drug use is not a victimless crime because the user, his or her family, and society suffer social and economic costs. Most drug abusers simply want to get high. Because the body daily develops more tolerance for abused drugs, addicts must use escalating dosages to achieve euphoria....so where does it end, I shutter to even think about it.
