Dear [Pixsurguy]
In Michigan, we know how hard-hit middle-income families have suffered from the Bush-McCain economic policies. Yet just this week, John McCain once again claimed that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong." Actual income is down for that median-income family and its purchasing power is down even further. We've now lost over 3.5 million manufacturing jobs in the country, unemployment has shot up in Michigan and nationally, and I don't have to tell you about houses being foreclosed upon and sky-high gas prices. The truth is, we are in the midst of a very deep economic ditch. And this November, America will make a choice for President between someone who defends the Bush economic policies, and was part of it, and voted for them, and someone who is a critic of those policies and wants to change the direction of our economy. That's why it's so important that everyone takes part in this election. Whether you vote in every election or you've never voted before in your life, this is one election that none of us can afford to miss. I hope you'll take a moment to check your voter registration - or get registered or request an absentee ballot - at the following website. And I hope you'll forward this email to a few people who might need to get registered. https://www.voteforchange.com/ The voter registration deadline in Michigan is just a few weeks away. But whether you're in Michigan or anywhere else in the country, this website will help you get registered to take part in this critical election. Again, please take a moment to share this email with others. This election is too important - and our economy is struggling too much - for anyone to sit on the sidelines. Thank you, Carl Levin [United States Senator] |

I know it would be totally against the rights of American citizens but here in Australia if you are no registered to vote you can be fined. When you are registered to vote and don't vote you definitely will be fined. Great revenue raiser, I think the fine is about $75.00. Other countries look to America and try to take their good social practices on board. Americans should look to other countries and adopt some of their social practices. America does not have a perfect system. |

Well, I'd agree with that approach...but the problem being, the ones who think it is working just fine (the ones *with*) don't want to change the status quo...and so they try to misinform the ones *without*, in hopes that they keep buying into the propaganda.

Forcing Australians to go to the polling booth is not hurting anyone here, it's a good system. When you get to the polling booth you are not required to vote for one of the candidates you can make an informal vote which means you like none of the above. |

Well, I think it would work great...but I'm saying that I doubt that Bush and his cronies, as well as all the major corporations they feed and cater to...I doubt very much they'd want to see any changes made to the way things currently are.
It would seem to me that they want America to stay uninformed for the most part, and to not question what the government feeds/tells them. But that's just my casual observation.
