as for the broad question ... it would all depend on what the situation is .... I mean my kids hate being forced to do somethings but then again they being minors have no choice in the matter ....

I am forced to have to pay insurance to drive my vehicle .... I would rather keep that money and if I were in an accident use it myself to fix my vehicle ....

I guess it would have to be a more definitive question to decide on ....
Second... God was brought up in this broad reaching question posed by Pat so therefore it fits in the discussion .
We really don't know where Pat is or was going in this. The only clue we have is her mention of killing.

I disagree with you there ... Flynn was the first one to post the word GOD

Patrish's question is broad and can be applied to many different scenario's ...

there are enough threads about the religion subject and it doesn't need to have it here ...... not every thread that Patrish starts or participates in has to have religion in it ....

if it honestly gets out of hand bringing in the subject of religion or GOD .... there can be and will be deletes ....

I gotta agree , the question is most definatly pretty broad and can be interpripted in far to many ways . So I'll simply say this , as long as its not illegal or imoral gook freak'in luck getting me to do sum'in I don't wanna do !-lol I mean don't get me wrong I have done things I didn't particularly wanna do because it was simply the right thing and of course I've had girlfriends guilt me into do'in things !-lol but as far as another grown man try'in to tell me I'm gonna do sum'in I don't wanna do , ummmmmm.........no !

Now if ya'll will excuse me , it IS Sunday and I have church tonite.......so I need to go clean my machine gun !

Zealot Christians are no different to their Muslim counterparts, if either thought it was a benefit to their community they would obey the order.

*Lurking....what a great word !
The God that I know and love would never ask me or anybody else to kill for him. You really shouldn`t judge every christian based on the nutcases out there who claim to hear God`s command. `Chances are, if you`re hearing a voice in your head telling you to kill...it`s your sanity that should be in question, not God.

Flynn, your references have more to do with schitzophrenia than Christianity.
Just so you understand - Christians do not hear from God, and God doesnt tell them to kill anyone. [Dueteronomy tells us that God [the Father] says He will not speak to ppl anymore]

The closest possible thing to schitzophrenia would be a demon possessing someone...outside of that - thats a mental condition and has nothing to do with religion.

Sort of like that man who beheaded and then ate the man on the bus in Canada.
He heard voices...he was mental - schitzo.

The question is broad... because i want to know if ppl feel they should be forced to do something they do not find acceptable.

Would a vegetarian eat meat because they were forced to?
Would a sound minded person eat cow dung?
Should a cat lover be made to eat a cat?
Or a dog lover eat a dog?

It may or may not be legal, or moral...but i am asking -

if you are against doing anything you find horrible to do -
should you be forced to do it??

I know myself??? I don't do anything that I dont wanna do.....even when it comes to my job, I mean, it would be nice to be rich and not have to work..lol..I dont' particularly enjoy my job...but I enjoy the benefits that come with HAVING a job. I like having my independence and I couldn't imagine myself being at the mercy of somebody else's paycheck.

Pat started an ambiguous thread, if not me then someone else would injected the Word of God into the thread.

I find it strange that Pat refers to Biblical messages that are the word of God but now she tells us that.........

Christians do not hear from God
