Should someone be forced to do something they simply do not wish to do?

you say that now...but what if you *had* to do something against your core beliefs in order to save the life of a loved one...?

or maybe that's too simple of a choice...what if two of your loved ones were in danger, each in a seperate location...and you had a CHOICE of doing something so against your core beliefs, that you feel you couldn't live with yourself afterwards...however, by doing that awful thing, you could save *one* of the two...but only one...

If you do nothing...they both perish...otherwise, you have to choose for one to live, and one to die...which, in itself, should be against your beliefs, since you love both of them equally...





...well, I mean, come on...Pat's initial post was far too vague, and too easy to say that we would all just 'do the right thing'....without any consequences.

Now, we're just adding some consequences...

I think it's just kinda like the false bravado bandied about by certain gunnies, how they try to make themselves sound all brave and heroic and crap...but let's be real here...

We'd all like to think we're more virtuous and integrous than we really are...but when the sh*t hits the fan, I think fear becomes the great equalizer.

I wanted to present some situations that I assumed you wouldn't find palatable...though I'm not here to judge if you do...
