Lightbulb Should someone be forced to do something they simply do not wish to do?

Should an adult be forced to give up their rights and be forced to do something they find reprehensible or against their own judgement, preference, or desire?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking Pat. Could you be more specific? I mean, none of us want to pay taxes but hey...c'est la vie right?

IF you felt strongly about not doing something - but were forced to do it, would it be right?

[This isnt about taxes - or i would never pay them.]

More specifically...hmmmmm.
Well, if someone wanted you to kill someone but you didnt like to kill - should they be forced to kill anyway?

soldiers are put in that situation every day ... isn't that what the draft did? did that make it right? I don't think so ... but it happened all the same

If it's a Christian doing the killing for God then it is OK.

Do I know any Christians killing in the name of God ?

Well of course there are the Christian Crusades.

Off hand NO, I don't know any Christians who are out there slaughtering the Non Believers as in days gone by.

I'm sure, today, there's more of them lurking in the background, finger on trigger, waiting for God to give them the command to shoot shoot though.
