Hortysir

Sure we can let every person wear their traditional clothing and worship in any form of religion a citizen chooses.

At some point most of us have had to conform to the rules and regulations of our countries.

Think back to those ealy days in school with group photos, report cards, graduation, drivers licences, proof of age for booze, more education or work skills, military service, a job a family and all the peripherals that go with it, because that's what shaped who you are now.

I don't remember seeing too many Burqa wearing females on my way to school !

Muslim women who immigrated to our countries should be able to wear the Burqa to any place of worship, wear it a social gatherings but day to day use in the real world should be discouraged and there should be a ban on our tax payer funded public servants wearing the Burqa to a government job.

Unless of course it is a requirement of the position they hold to wear the garment.

I don't see how how the Burqa fits in a modern Western society that was developed by our invading forefathers.

Are we under attack like the Natives of our lands were all those years ago ?

For women only the masking of the face and body was used
when one group was being raided by another.
These raids often involved the taking of women of child bearing age.
With all women hidden behind a veil, and the home team fighting back,
the chances of being taken were substancially reduced as the women of child bearing age could not be quickly distinguished from the very young and the old.

Many Muslims believe that the Islamic holy book, the Qur'an, and the collected traditions of the life of Muhammed, or hadith, require both men and women to dress and behave modestly in public.
However, this requirement, called hijab, has been interpreted in many different ways by Islamic scholars (ulema) and Muslim communities (see Women and Islam);
the burqa is not specifically mentioned in the Quran.[citation needed]

Windy conditions!! I rest my case m'lud

Actually they have one of those Febreeze fans under there! Just think of the things you could hide. You could go into a store and shoplift your entire months worth of groceries and people would be none the wiser. Maybe I ought to get myself one of those!

I think those speed cameras are designed to capture a photograph of your license plate and that is what they use instead of your face.

Iceman

I have requested the photo from a red light/speed camera because more than one person drives my work vehicles.

You can see the driver in the photo, it's not a 100% accurate because we all wear the same uniform but you can see height and shape. I'm in the fortunate position that if I accuse the wrong person they will find the offender for me.

I am not sure if your laws differ from ours on that, but I am sure that the owner is responsible for the offense here.

Here the driver is responsible, each penalty for a traffic infringement has a financial penalty and points off your licence.

Three or four speeding fines and your licence is cancelled.
