Now I understand why you get so annoyed at some of the things I post.

You're permitted to make a joke at another members expense in debate but I'm not.

It's great that the rules have been explained to me.

Thankyou.

To make a joke means to make jest, have fun, laugh, etc....
A person can do that without calling the other person a name (gullible, etc)
Seems you're the one bent over a joke, but I can't be bent for being called a name?
Whose standards are reversed?
I submit it's a matter of perspective

Hortysir

Not sure why my post was deleted, I still say that Moderators should give us the courtesy of letting members know why their posts are deleted.

Lets try again.

Gullible.....look up the dictionary meaning, it's applicable.

Standards being reversed.....I'm happy that my personal standards are intact.

Perspective.......You're welcome to your own perspective, it does not mean I have to or will agree with you.

The deleted question I asked was......

What joke posted at me do you think I'm bent about ?

I took this:
Quote:

It's great that the rules have been explained to me.
as complaining that you can't joke, but I can. Hence te "bent' remark.

To the delete issue; I've had the same questions.
Used to be we were warned or, at least, informed that we had something deleted and why.
I don't recall such sweeping and unexplained or, in some cases, unjustified censorship.

I don't think either one of us have a problem with telling the other when they've said something that crossed the line to us. And we handle it and hash it out.
I don't recall reporting any of your posts as inappropriate. I take it up directly with you.
(I could be wrong, but you would have had to REALLY pissed me off to the point that I didn't want to reply to you)

And, btw, I would never require you to agree with me

Hortysir

I don't use smiley faces as punctuation that doesn't mean I don't get a laugh at the trials and tribulations that happen on this baord,on a daily basis.

One mans joke can be another mans insult that does mean it was intended as an insult.

So we get back to perception and I have to say that most members of this board have no idea of my real feelings and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Righto!

I still can't figure out when we had a a falling out?! I have nothing against you but I think you think I do. I gave you my home email address for this reason.

I try to lighten up when I post, I can be strong in my convictions, so I enjoy the banter.. and the people; regardless of our differences.

I think you missed the point of my previous post.

You made a personal statement about me and that is not permitted in the debate forum.

Most members who post in debate have their posts deleted if they make personal remarks about other member’s attitudes or personality traits.

I would prefer that you do not post personal information about me anywhere on this board.

That includes comments like.....

Whether we have had a falling out or if it's just in your imagination, it has nothing to do with anyone else on this board.

So once again I would ask you not to post personal or private information about me anywhere on this board unless you have my permission to do so.

I agree. I know there's no problem on my part, or my imagination's. I apologise if you feel I've posted anything personal or private; even in the worst of situations I have never stooped that low. It's just not my style. Addressing something on here, that I had not done, began with you. You first brought a private situation to the fore.

Regards Flynn...

I see you didn't miss the point after all, you just want to continue it on.

It's all good Mimi but I think your placing too much importance on a casual internet relaionship.
