Hortysir Casting off the shackles of personal dislikes and focusing on the issues is always a step in the right direction. |

I saw Obama in an interview with David Letterman and Obama joked that he was a white man before the Presidential election, I suppose you had to view it to get a laugh but in all honesty I had no idea that Clinton was the First Black President.
but Thanks for the update on all the good things that Bill Clinton is achieving as Ex-Presidnt Clinton. |

NOT shouting at You flynn just adding my two cents here...

as some one who was RAISED in the South, LIVES in the South and is constantly exposed to People and Idea's in the South, i can state quite frankly that while there are isolated groups and individuals living here that have racist points of view and ideas, the average Joe and Jane are NOT Racist. those who ARE are seen as Ignorant and foolish and frowned upon by the general public. I LIVE IN THE SOUTH AND I AM NOT RACIST... I HAVE FAMILY IN THE SOUTH AND THEY ARE NOT RACIST... I HAVE FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS AND EVEN ENEMYS HERE THAT ARE NOT RACIST. people down here are opposed to President Obama because they believed they were voting for a Moderate and dissagree with his current policies. HIS RACE IS NOT THE ISSUE. the ones tooting the racism horn the loudest are members of his own party. now back to studying... damn you BIOCHEMISTRY!!!

Hey, Shkeep!! LTNS!!
Completely agree with everything you said, btw ![]() To Flynn, I can't recall who it was that called Clinton that...Cosby? Anyhoo, they were calling him that because of his "soul" music ![]() (actually what Obama said was he was black BEFORE he was elected) Wonder why he didn't go on O'Reilly....they had a good interview the last they met. |

People in the Southern States of America are not the only ones who considered Carter to be a bad President.
Being a good or bad president does not alter the fact that Carter has witnessed racism toward Black people all his life. Carter states quiet clearly that the racism attitudes he lived with have now been exported to the other States. In effect Carter has labelled Americans as RACIST across all State lines. |

that doesn't make him right ... he can say the sky is red and he's seen that it's red in Australia too ... doesn't make him right ... he's from another era, he had no clue what was going on while he was president and we have no reason to believe he's found one (a clue) since he left office ... and if he was SO aware of what he perceived to be SUCH an issue, why didn't he address it when he was in office? mighty convenient timing if you ask me

Hortysir
Your accusation that Carters claims of racist attitudes toward Obama by those that politically disagree with him,............ does not hold water, as there are Blacks and Hispanics who disagree with Obama's policies. It is about Obama being BLACK and how White folks judge him on colour and religion. The other point you are wrong on is this thread is purely and simply about President Carter recognising that racism is alive and well in America and having a Black man as President has made people more aware of their personal feelings towards those of a different colour or religion. Nothing like having a Black Man as president to bring out some true inner feelings. |
