President Carter on Racism

According to President Carter, racism is alive and well in the Southern states of America.

Carter lives there and speaks from first hand experience when he openly states that White Southeners ( and others ) but especially those that live Down South as " Good Ole Boys ", believe that Obama is not fit to be President because he is Black.

And since when did ANYBODY give a flying flip what Jimmy (peanut) Carter thought about anything, any-damned-way?
It's easier to call the dissenters racsits than to address the questions being raised.

There is more to it than what you admit to.

Carter lives in the South and has witnessed racist attitudes all his life.

He says White Americans have been conditioned into believing Blacks are inferior to White folks like you and I.

Carter believes racial prejudices against Afro Americans are ingrained in American society .

Ok, so he believes that.
So do I.
I can't understand how "You lie" translates into "blacks are inferior", or how a Hitler poster is being racist.
And i REALLY can't understand why, with as many REAL problems to deal with, this is getting blown WWWAAAAYYYY out of proportion.
The man apologized directly to Obama. Obama accepted. Why can't anyone else?

Some one of clout finally said it. He is right in everything he said. Not liking Obama's policies or just not liking him does not make anyone a racist. However the way you say things and how you act does make you one.

It is funny, that for years the people who swear they are not racist. Use to go around saying what you act like forms a perception of you. Now that their behavior says they are a racist. They are all "No I am not". Well let me tell you. Just because you do not know you are a thing, does not mean you are not that thing.

By the way if your perceptions of Obama or anyone is your reality and your reality is all that matters. Then live with the fact that you are perceived as a racist by many. And that you will be treated as what you are perceived as.

Because as a matter of survival, no minority can afford to give anyone they perceive as a racist the benefit of a doubt. Regression of human nature is far to prevalant to this world.

Racists don't believe it of themselves, same as wife beaters don't admit it to themselves, gamblers, alcoholics, drug adicts, none of US see OUR own faults.

The Wilson statement " You Lie " is the straw that broke the camels back or in this case it was the catalyst for Jimmy Carter to tell it how it really is.

President Carter is talking about the racist attitudes of those Americans who live in the Southern States.

I'd be very surprised if the US was not racist in some way. All of us take against others who do not conform to our world view whether that be by way of dress, attitude religion or colour. It become racism when we deny the existance of this predjudice and act unthinkingly along the line that it draws us on.

Racism is alive and strong in the southern states. True. And in alot of otherplaces as well.
No one has yet answered how "you-lie" yelled across a senate chamber is construed as racist.

Obama stated that illegal aliens wouldn't be covered in HR3200. That IS a lie.
The bill clearly states that all "RESIDENTS" would be eligible. It doesn't say "citizens" or "legal residents".
Just as I've tried to point out before....just like any other insurance policy.....if it is not specifically listed as an 'exclusion', it is Included.
Each and every time Obama is called out on anything the "race card" gets played. And I'm really sick of it.
If everyone is so sick and tired of racism exsisting, quit calling everything racist. Not everything is racially motivated.
Another question left unanswered is how is a poster of Obama/Hitler is racist.
