In an ideal world people wuld be rated ontheir abilities rather than their disabilities.

I cannot understand sex discrimination since that can only hurt the business in the ong run but I can understand discrimination on language ability. Most forms of work requir an ability to communicate with either your fellow workers or the customers.

ive been turned down a job in my teen becos i didnt have a boyfriend/it was as a clerk...lol
I have been turned down a job..because I have the german nationality, for wanting to work for the brit.army on camp....I get turned down bcos they have a nato agreement with the german gov.and are not allwed to employ german nat.I have dependant status...signed off the german security net 15 yrs ago...therefore not entitled to german benefits...but still..even if thez want..they cant employ me...in the past there have been some german taxdodgers who claimed german benefits and then worked for the brit.army..like cashed in twice...cos of those black sheep we all have to suffer now...its not fair..as you dont cut off benefits4 all jacobs if just one guy named jacob did something wrong..do you/if you know what i mean...i think it would be easy for the germn gov.to proof if the army sent them a note of us/me and then thez can proof if that person is eg.on the german net or not and give there ok...but no no...u just get the answer its a nato agreement and thats it...havent got the contact or money for a lawyer to change it..lol/
if u meet a woman on camp..first thing is the ask..where do u work..and then i have to tell them that with the nato agreement...and it makes me feel kind of awkward if u know what i mean...
to the disabled...
employers get money towards there wages of the disabled, when they employ diasabled...each company has to employ a % of disabled persons.
to the cleaning job..u r lucky if u even find any advertised here at the min.lol
employers do/did also get monez towards if they employ polish and russian who had russian/polish ansisters b4 ww2.thez also get preferred in housing eg.landlords get money of the gov.

but what if u get money towards empolying foreigners and disabled
..from the gov.
so sometimes it can be also a disadvantage not to be a foreigner...
some jobs are also taken by migrants as we all know..but I dont want to go there again

Vinnie

Your comments are a reflection of a person who works in the service and/or retail industries.

Education and tertiary qualifications are the exception not the norm in retail and service industries. It is where the physical and mentally handicapped best fit in.

In the real world ( ideal worlds do not exist ) you can either do the job required or an able bodied person will be employed to do it.

Most physically and/or mentally handicapped people do not fit well in the retail/service industries performing better in office or other environs where they are well away from the public and their variable reactions. We see them most in retail/service because that is where they are most visible.

You may as well be honest about it Vinnie and come right and say that mentally and physically handicapped people do not fit in well in any work environment.

In years gone by natural selection would have taken care of the problem of underemployment in the social demographic you are debating.

I don't think you are right there. Certainly for some this is true but for others there is a degreee oin comfort doing repetative tasks that still have to be done. It's a question of finding the right chap for the job (and vice versa)

What do you think I'm not right about Vinnie ?

There are two parts to my previous post.

The first was where I said you may as well be honest and state the fact that physically and mentally handicapped people do not fit into any level of the work force.

or

The second where I stated that in years gone by natural selection would have kicked in and taken care of the problem.
