Default Native American

Hello and welcome to all. No matter what ethic origin. I started this thread to get an idea of how many people identify themselves as having some Native American blood. It is not necessary to have a card or be registered. It is enough that you feel it in your heart.

Please tell stories, which nation/tribe, any cultural information you may have. Just be yourself.

I am more than half Cherokee. From the North Carolina line. No papers. I just look different, LOL

We were farmers back then. We knew growing and hunting instintively. Could not speak the language (not allowed).

When I was a kid, all kids could make a 'killer' bow and arrow set, without using any man-made tools or parts. All natural from the woods. We could also track deer, and catch rabbits and squirrels.

We believed in honor and truth, respect for our elders, and be willing to die for your beliefs (be true to yourself).

For all the total non-indians - - - What do you think of us? Historically and/or in present day context.

I'm not native american at all, honestly a bit envious of those who are.
I agree there have been alot of wrongs done to alot of people of all ethnic backgrounds. The first "white people" came here to escape wrongs done them right?
Then made the same damn mistakes.
I have to say tho, there are rights and wrongs on all sides and seeing just ONE SIDE is the most racist & biased shame of all. No offense intended to any.
Just my honest opinion, if ya don't like my 2cents i'm sorry

Much to come later!

Good morning Tsalagi,

Maybe I will have to move it if no-one sees it here? LOL I was very curious, since I have seen many references in other threads.

I may have to come up with an advert to get people to view and post. Well only the 2nd day, I will give it until monday before considering major changes.

Thanks princess-angel,

It is amazing that native americans are known in such far away places. In South Africa there is a shop that sell dream catchers and other spiritual items.

In 2005 the native american spirit is shared with many peoples around the world. We are like a globable tribe. Therefore you could be one of us in spirit. There were ceramonies where a non-indian could be adopted into our tribe. Our numbers are not as large as when they discovered us (1492). So feel welcome to join in and support our rebirth.

I understand the proving part. Unless you have close ties to a reservation, it difficult to get papers in 2005. However, it is enough that you and your ansesters know! Welcome to the tribe.

There used to be a orginazation called AIM (american indian movement). I think they changed their name???

Anybody out there been to the new museum in D.C. the smithsonian has a wonderful display for us. It is supported by all the indian nations.
