Actually I am not worried about my cats being killed at all. I dont believe in killing unless for food or to save your life.
And also that all the people who think having one is sooooooo cute until it craps on the carpet, sprays on their new shoes, or scratches up the furniture have the responsibility to spay/neuter or take it to the animal shelter. The responsibility starts THERE. I live near an University housing area where there is a hoard of strays at the end of every semester.

It's sad and very understandable. Until you got to cooking them. I almost fainted when I saw "Rattlenake Meat" on the market.
People are always dropping their unwanted cats near our home. The land owner forbid outdoor pets. It didn't mean we could not have out door WILD LIFE. The rabbits were cute hopping around. The squirrels were getting bravier everyday. Then one day a black pursian cat chased them away. She became my friend the night she arched her back up to a raccoon. Letting it know it had to go through her to get to me.

Another part of our wild kingdom we have Birds with feeder, houses, bath. I can't say I have missed any birds.
We live in the city and majority of the time my cats are home

If a pet python were in your yard or a pit bull etc. you would want to do something about it and unfortunately the cats are so out of control that animal control can't keep up. Even if they could it would be very expensive and they would just have to take them someplace and kill them anyways.

I say issue cat hunting licenses and someone write a book on how to cook them.

Oh Patrish that remind me when my hubby bought a freezer from a lady. After a couple of weeks I could sense a rat in the house. I had a little white cat I shut up in the cabinet with the rat. My cat yelled and out it came and didn't stop. My hubby bought a BIG trap and caught him in a matter of hours. That sucker was bigger than my cat.

Oh yes, We have a neighbor who enjoys the cages. I can't much blame her from the stratches on her car. If you want to stop a cat from doing somthing spray them with WATER not BULLETS.
My hubby bought a cage and kept my cats in it. Don't think they'll take the bait if they do. I'll go pay to bring them back home. I would rather have these cats then a wild animal infested with rabies hanging around.

If there were that many dogs running around everyone'd be calling animal control.
If was that many rats, they'd call the dept. of health.
But since it's "cute" cats its sociably acceptable.
We have people in town that come and drop off food for them.
I keep a box trap at home and catch on average of 3 a month and take them to animal control.
I've tried bringing it to work and setting it out by the dumpster, but 'kitty-lovers' keep springing the trap so i don't catch any.
I say issue me a license or a "Cat-Tag", let me grab my .22 and I'll be happy to thin the herd.
In Florida we have leash laws, but even the authorities have admitted the difficulty in enforcing it with cat owners.(fines-as with any crime- are no deterrent) Who actually puts a cat on a leash? How do you fence one in? {or tie it to a tree out back} LOL
Cat-Scratch Fever isn't just a song by Ted Nugent, BTW!!!!

No, Grandpa, you are supposed to stand guard outside all night to discourage the cats.
That makes sense, doesn't it?
I use my Cherokee blowgun. It gets their attention when they get a dart in their assets.

I have an interesting perspective from the psychology books.

They say men who love cats..love women. And women are prone to understand a cat. Because we are like em.
