Member Bashing--Please Read

i dont mean this to sound all me me me but thanks for pointing that out aluli cos my michael jackson thread got overtook by people debating over countries and people in them instead of the actual subject and it started to piss me off because of people changing the subject and taking over my thread so thank you for pointing it out

well the thread should have been deleted at the beginning ... it wasn't really about a debate of any sort, but an in your face thing .......

However, all the people that went back and forth with the name calling, and the instigating to get it that far, should be banned ..... period .....

basically, as I see it ...it is all about favorites again .....

In all fairness..If any post or reply sounds like a bashing remark to another member that post or reply will be deleted.

As far as a thread going off topic, it is up to the originator of that post to try to get it back on topic. Now, if it goes into the slanderous bashing...well then, report it and it will be dealt with.

As far as bashing other sites..I don't see the need for a constant US VS. THEM ordeal. If people chose to leave here to go there then it's their right to do so. You can not like the other places, fine but, when people visit here again they should be welcomed and not made to feel like traders for coming back once in a while.

FYI: Ice Cream Man and Humdinger are one in the same. A new user name was created after Ice Cream Man made some unappropriate posts and was banned. The same with the new user name Humdinger---same thing happened.

We started this thread as a reminder to let's all be good and hold that tongue. It's easy to get caught up and type away all our thoughts and feelings. But, when actual bashing starts to happen that is crossing the line.

Agree to dissagree..but no bashing.

When I first joined debate, there were interesting topics. Now it seems you can't post a thread about ANY subject without it turning into an American bashing thread, so I don't post much anymore.

Alrighty then...
The debate board continues in its spiral downward.

Name calling, and tattle taling.

etc etc etc

The level one must perceive to consider themselves a good debater is to stick strictly and impartially to FACTS or at least mature presentation of opinion regarding the post and not a person.

And frankly, this section is just losing its flavor.

I cannot tell you how many people get 'personal' and start on the person who made the thread, or makes opinions on the 'subject at hand' ...

It always turns into a hateful verbal slamfest match.

I admit I try to abide patiently, and sometimes leave for a few days before returning so I can stomach it. I admit I would love to just once lose it....


The board was never this low before..and the topics were interesting, and the information shared was not about the person, but the topic.

BUT with holding any names...it seems that since any certain group has entered, it is nothing but spite and 'one upmanship' and is nothing more than a lack of personal integrity and maturity.


I sometimes want to scream...SHUT UP and pay attention to the topic...
Well, it wouldnt work.

And eventually this section might need to be closed off til ppl cool off.

Names should not be mentioned spitefully and with care to ensure they are NOT placed in a position to be mocked....

everyone is entitled to their opinion.. im very tired of saying that..
not everyone agrees, thats a fact of life, not just message boards on the internet... however when you take someone elses views and make them into personal attacks against your own views, then it is you who are in the wrong, not the person with the different views... if that makes any sense..

Its debate section, from time to time things will be heated, but a good debater will always back off when things get too hot... they do not go on personal insult sessions nor do they start spreading rumours or making slanderous posts to another user about their families etc....

IMO those type of people have no business on a debate board...

Suppression of debate is how dictaorships start.
