When my family first came to USA my mom watched the game shows (price is right, ect...) and most of all Wrestling. Nothing could be in her way, when wrestling came on. I promised myself that I was never going to be like her. I couldn't stand to be in the same room with her with the sound of tv and her shows within my listining ear. I left home when I was 18. I traveled around the states for 8 years with no tv, no reading newspapers.

I dislike the same program format as yourself, braindead is an under-estimation of the mentality required to watch those shows on a regular basis. Unfortunately here in Australia we get all your popular TV shows, main reason is MONEY, the USA media conglomerates flood us with those shows to the extent that it is not financially viable to produce our own shows. Slowly but surely we are becomming Americanised and I for one don't like that our culture is taking a back seat to trashy USA shows. I don't have to watch a full program to know what is happening on a show like " Desperate Housewives ", the commercials keep me up to date as to what is happening. It annoys me that I'm watching a news or current affair program then I become an unwilling viewer of trash that I choose not to watch. If you turn on a TV then you have to be prepared to be bombarded by advertisements and shows that you want no part of. JB It strikes me as being very odd that the most religous and morally correct people on this board like to display themseves with their tits hanging out. |

honestly *shakes head* Im sick and tired of turning on tv to find utter trash..I really dont want to know about americas next top model, or how ty pennington(sad i eve know his name) is going to demolish a house and cry! what ever happened to good tv, where are all the period dramas and good documentaries? hell even the discovery channel has been taken over by american rubbish such as american hot rod, american chopper and ffs someone PLEASE get rid of those horrid mythbusters! Living in denmark you would expect a lot of danish tv, but noooooooooo uts all xheap quicky produced american unfunny crap!

hmmm interesting....
I did not realize that American television has bombarded and flooded other countries programing. I feel for you! I personally don't watch a lot of television due to what is on..but there are a few things that I do like. I don't like for my children to watch too many cartoons, but Animal planet....oh yeah! All I can say though is if you don't like what is on the television...turn the channel or turn it off. and yes.... I do take my own advise on this
