To see what the settings on the Drop down shadow all do..

1.Open up a new image,make the size 500 lenth x 200 height.
Make the paper colour WHITE

2.Now choose your colour for your Background and fill properties which is the main colour for your text and the Foreground and stroke properties.
Choose your text, create as FLOATING, and a nice large size like 48 so you can see clearly what is happening as you adjust the settings.

3.Click on the TEXT TOOL and type your name.
Click APPLY,then use the MOVING TOOL to move the name onto the white sheet.
If you move the sheet by mistake just click UNDO.

4.Goto EFFECTS..3D EFFECTS..DROP SHADOW.
Then make these the settings~ put the vertical to 7~
Then move the horizontal to 5,but DON'T CLICK OK.
Leave the preview box open so you can play with the settings and see what happens.

5.Now make the VERTICAL higher in number and watch as the shadow goes Lower.
Then put the vertical back to 7

6.Now make the horizontal settings higher and watch the shadow move to the right.
Then move the horizontal back to 5

7.The opacity is next, that makes the shadow more solid as the number is higher and more transparent when lowered. Then move it back to 80
Next is the BLUR,the higher the number the more blurred the text becomes.
then move it back to 3.Then goto SELECTIONS..SELECT NONE to deselect.
Thats this tutorial over.Hope this helped

Thanks Rainy,
You're welcome also if you goto EFFECTS..BROWSER
you can see what sort of effects you'll get from different styles.
My PSP does freeze sometimes using this though.
Choose the effect to view using the folders on the left hand side,
you can open the folders to find the effects by clicking on the +
or close the folder by clicking on the -
Click on any of the folders to get a sample of how your pic will look using the effects.
If you click QUICK RENDOR you'll get the samples loaded faster but not to the same quality as without it ticked.
If you find an effect that you'd like to use then click the APPLY button.
If you want to see what it looks like if you play with the settings then click the MODIFY button.
If you use the effect browser to alter your pic and dont like it when you do see it then just click UNDO or goto EDIT..UNDO
