my mother and her husband went (to Alaska), so they've given me all the details about the best time to go, what to expect and things to be sure not to miss, they took a 5th wheel up there so I think the van won't have any problems, at the right time of year lol

One of my best friends went to Alaska a couple of times while his son was stationed up there while in the Coast Guard. He said it was so pretty that it is just hard to describe..Sure would be a long way to drive..lol

our last trip to Canada was 11,500 miles, 58 days on the road, I would expect something similar, we love road trips! lol we were totally self sufficient, we could (and did lol) just pull into a rest stop, have dinner, watch a movie and get a good night's sleep and never leave the van ('cept to go to the bathroom lol )

where did I say we didn't shower? lol some nights we stayed in 5 star hotels, some nights in camp grounds and some nights we spent in rest stops, one night we spent in BFE lol and we spent the night in the van at the top of Newfoundland, at Land's End, it was quite the adventure! lol

Where did you say you did? I was just funnin' with ya..I knew you wouldn't go that long without a shower..I am sure it was a lot of fun and you saw a lot of pretty country..I would love to do something like that if I had the time and could be gone that long..

I'd just gotten laid off from Texas Instruments with a very nice severance package, hubby took a voluntary lay off from his job and we off went! lol would cost us alot less if we'd done it today cuz there's lots of folks who would put us up for the night, both here in the states and in Canada, when I go back, my first stop in Canada will be to see Zmama, she's got some wonderful buns! lol

I think it would be neat to get to go see Ken. I have talked to him many times and he seems like one hell of a guy..Doubt that I will ever get to but it is good to think about anyway..
