Another "war story": Had a trucking client that (only once) picked up a shipper-loaded open-top trailer full of wire hangers. Driver could not see into it because of the canvas top and it was a "shipper load and count" load, so doors were locked. Driver was supposed to unload.

The hangers apparently had been just dumped into it from the top and as hangers always do, they were so tangled it took the guy an entire day to unload them. He quit the next day.:he he:

No way was he paid by the hour. He was an owner-operator and got a percentage of the revenue earned on the load.
