Concerning Your Enemies
Behold, all those who are angered at you
will be shamed and dishonored;
Those who contend with you will be
as nothing and will perish.
You will seek those who quarrel with you,
but will not find them,
Those who war with you will be
as nothing and non-existent.
Isaiah 41:11,12 NASB

"You have heard that the law of Moses says,
'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy'.
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and on the unjust, too.
If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that.
Matthew 5:43-47 NLT

| | Meditation 12/7-13: An Angel's Visit - Luke 1:26-33 ESV
Birth of Jesus Foretold
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, "Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!"
But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.
And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end."
Luke 1:26-33 ESV
