    Go fund me healthcare?

I know of a cancer nurse who has terminal cancer herself. She started a gofundme campaign because the health service, her employer, would not approve the medication she needed. She's currently in remission thanks to what she's raised, but not sure how long it will be affordable.

    Bamber anecdote

There are three music stages at the Pilton Festival, at the bottom, middle and top of Pilton Street. At 2:30 in the afternoon, having travelled back from a gig in Cornwall specially to perform on home territory, the band in which "hubby" Terry's youngest son Chris performs was on the top stage...

    Bamber anecdote

Probably not. There's a lot of the old town gone, demolished in the 60s and 70s. You could maybe spend half a day looking round Pilton and the few older buildings in the centre of Barnstaple but that'd be it.

    What is it? #472

I found a lot with Japanese writing and patterns on them, but thought that would give the game away. It took a bit of searching to find theses less obvious ones.

    Bamber anecdote

I went back to the lower end of Pilton Street to the Reform Inn, had a few beers at the beer festival and met up with more old friends. I may go back in a couple of weeks as my friend from Spain, Rusty, is coming back to see his parents during the school summer holidays (he teaches English over...

Behind the nearest building is Pilton Church of St Mary the Virgin. On a future visit when things are a bit quieter I must take a few shots of it, if I can. The church is fairly closely encircled by buildings so a decent shot may be a challenge. Bull Hill by Phil Gayton, on Flickr

    Bamber anecdote

I took the previous photo from the top of Pilton Street looking down across the crowds. To my right was Bull Hill and within 30 paces in that direction I could look back and were it not for the sound of the revelry you wouldn't know it was even going on. Bamber anecdote

For a time the festival had been plagued with rampant commercialism, so it is good to see that in recent years most of the stalls up Pilton Street have reverted to locals and charitable organisation, more like an old fashioned English Village Fete. Bright skies and bunting by Phil Gayton, on...

    Bamber anecdote

I took a route avoiding the High Street to get to Pilton before the parade. On the way I passed the showroom of a window firm, Anglia Windows. I know an old regular at The Albert in Totnes, a Cornishman by the name of Russell Fanelli, is manager there and as I saw him through the doorway...

    Bamber anecdote

These are the leaders of the parade. As it was about to set off on the journey through Barnstaple to Pilton I took this quick shot then moved off out of the way. I didn't even realise at the time that the green man was an old friend, John Popham. The leaders of the parade by Phil Gayton, on...

I took that photo from the bridge over the River Taw, called The Long Bridge, then completed the crossing to the north bank next to the museum and clock tower, where the members of the parade had assembled. Bamber anecdote

Over 12 years ago I lived in North Devon, in the village of Bradiford. Next to Bradiford is Pilton, once a separate town but now part of Barnstaple, possibly the oldest Borough in England. Pilton still has its own distinct and individual feel to it, helped by the many old buildings including...

I beg your pardon!? No. The second part of the answer is "bell". The first part is a word for an amateurish attempt to improve or repair something.
