This is the monthly update from the Moderator Section on how many spammers are banned and how many spam threads actually manage to get through.
It was felt that not many members know of all the hard work put in by the Mods to keep this forum spam free.
We are working alongside a large anti spam database where a lot of different forums work together reporting spammers/blocked spammers.
We are now in the 6th Month of this united method and I'm sure you've noticed how spam posts have fallen by a massive scale.
My thanks goes to the team for making this a success.

Here are the numbers for the past 5 months.

November2008..147 added to the database.
Number of Spam posts= 0

December 2008..173 added to the database
Number of Spam posts= 1

January 2009.. 154 added to the database
Number of Spam posts= 7

February 2009.. 153 added to the database
Number of Spam posts= 6

March 2009..211 added to the database
Number of Spam posts= 7

We smashed last months total with a couple less spam posts.
Great work.

Total for April is
Spammers added to the database 246
Total number of Spam posts= 5

Anti Spam Blocker - Help Fight Spam Email!

This page creates randomly hundreds of fake email addresses each time it is loaded. Any time the spam-bot revisits this site it will feed the spam-bot with another 100 fake email addresses. This will clog up the spammers databases.

The domain names we use are valid domain names from spammers found in your temporary email service at myTrashMail.com. This list is constantly updated by our spamfilter list.

A cool side effect by using spam domain is that spammers spam other spammers!

Numbers added to the database for May =297

8 spam posts managed to get through.

Total added to the database so far= 1,370

Total number of spammers added to the database for June=15 LOL
Total number of spam posts posted on the forum= 0

We've changed the way we moderate,not relying on the database as much,going more on the logins,profiles etc.
We've also started keeping some new members we've good reason to think may be here to spam in a group of their own.
They are then watched,posts etc can only be seen by admin/mods till we decide whether to let them in or ban.
On who's online those members names will be in orange text.
Banned members names are seen in black text.

Total number of spam posts posted on the forum= 3(all from one username)

Total number of Spammer posts for August=25

This month it has been a problem,sorry,I will be making steps to try to prevent so many getting through this month.

Not the large improvement I'd hoped for but the extra security methods have made a difference.
