    Default Poems

We need a section for Poetry. Some of us are excellent Poets or have an extensive collection of Poems that we would like to share with all of you. Since we do not have a Poetry section this thread will have to do until someone decides to give us one. There should be some guidelines so no one gets confused so if the poem you are posting is your own then take the credit, if it is not your writing then give the credit to the actual Poet, if you did not write the poem and do not know who did please write either Unknown or Anonymous.

Thank you and I am looking forward to all the poems you all have written or collected.

    Default Ogre Ogre

    OGRE OGRE

    One lovely bleak morning
    during Thunderstorm warning
    Me wandered far out
    Beyond hail of a shout..
Me was in a good mood
    Just looking for food..
    No creature stirred
    this far from home.
    No Dragon, no Monster,
    Not even a Gnome..
    Me entered a forest
    Huge and tall;
    The trees were so big,
    Me seemed small..
    The way was so tangled
    No walker could pass,
    But it opened like Magic
    A lovely crevasse,
    with Nicklepedes and more delights,
And stagnant water rich with blights,
And me tramped up to a hidden Castle
With shroud for Flag and scalp for tassle.
    The wind blew by it
    With lovely moans,
    And all the timbers
    Were giant bones.
    At entrance slept
    Little Dragon called Puk,
    Guarding what left me awestruck
    A fountain packed
    With purple muck.
Spouting gouts of bright red blood.
    Me stared so long
    Me stood in doze.
And me mouth watered so hard
    It drooled on my toes
    But me knew such enchantment
    Would be complete
    The moment me yielded
    And started to eat.
    Me wanted to see
    What further treasure
    Presented itself
    For the Hero's pleasure.
And in the center in a grimy sack
    Lay a wonderful Ogress
    Stretched on a rack.
    She had hair like nettles,
    Skin like mush,
    And she face would make
    A Zombie blush.
    She breath reeked of carrion
    Wonderfully foul,
    And she stench was so
    Strong me wanted to howl.
    Me thought me sick
    With worm in gut,
    But knew it was love
    For that splended Slut.

    Thank you,Ayla! I couldn't agree more...
Here's one of mine I wrote lo so many years ago, that I think most can relate to....

    Pre Nup Jitters

    My dearest one
    the clock it runs
    without consideration
    drawing us nigh
    to say goodbye-
    DAMN THIS SITUATION!
    It brings me grief
    for 'tis my belief
the one that spurs me onward
    it will be
    an eternity
    before we head homewards
    into each others arms
    protected from all harms

    that never fail
    to assail
    couples everywhere..
    the niggling doubts
    all this about
    do they truly care
    about us when
    we part again
    because of life's demands
    or is it akin
    to being in
    an hourglass of sand
    has dispair comes to stay
did life and joy go away?

    We sit and curse
    and fear the worst
    about our true intents
    not caring how
    until now
    we have been content
    with our meanings
    totally seeming
    that we'd be together
    through thin and thick
    in health or sick
in both fair and foul weather
    tis that unto me
    we have for an eternity

    until the day
    we go away
    finally as man and wife
    I feel that I
    can't say goodbye
    to all this inner strife
    that gets me down
    when you're not arround
    my mind races evil
    thought prevail
    I'm in a jail
    caused by this upheaval
until our day has come at last
then these fears'll be laid in the past

    another one of mine....

    For my love

A smile that is freely given,
    Laughter that is heart-felt,
    Wisdom given when needed,
    Comfort to my troubled mind,
    Balm for my tortured soul,
    Bandage for my wounded body-
    You are all that,and more...

    You are my lighthouse becon
    on life's tumultous seas,
You are the one who knows
    the pain inside of me.
    You are the guide post
    on the highway of life,
    You are the only one
    who can end the strife.
    You are all that,and more...

    Without you,I drift along
    the days become a blur
    Without you,each day
    I become less sure
    Without you,the night
    grows forever long,
    Without you,I'm not sure
how long I can go on.
You are all that and more...

i wrote this for my daughter while going through chemo...when she was in her teens we had some different opinions and views on certain topics...i wrote this poem for her years later

    BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER

    SOMETIMES AS A DAD
    THINGS CAN BE A MESS
I DON'T ALWAYS GET IT RIGHT
AND THATíS MY FAULT I GUESS
    SOMETIMES MY EDGES ARE ROUGH
    MY WORDS NOT SO SMART
BUT IF YOU LOOK DEEP INSIDE
    YOU'LL FIND A SENSITIVE HEART
    YES DEEP WITHIN THAT HEART
THIS I KNOW TO BE TRUE
    YOU'RE MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER
    AND I LOVE YOU.

here is one i wrote shortly after getting out of rehab
    That Bright Light
    Written by Ken C.

I broke all the rules that would bend
Thinking back on all the years
    I find myself shedding tears
Of all the hills I climbed
    There was a mountain top
    I never reached
I came close so many times
Only to see myself fall back down
    I tried to hide it
    But I couldnít shake it
I wasnít as strong as I thought
I was only a broken clown
But H made it feel right
I was lost in the night
Then I saw Godís bright light
The dark cloud that followed over my head
Could not block out His bright light
    He opened my heart
To give me back my sight

    nother one

    Right Now
the snow is piling up outside
    but i don't give a damn
the only thing I care about
is that you're where I am
the breeze makes the shutters creak
the lights flicker on and off
    the fire crackling merrily
    the generator gives a cough
as it runs out of fuel
I don't care about all that
nor do I care that my manuscript
has been shreaded by the cat
the only thing I truly care about
is that you're here with me
    and that we'll be together
    throughout eternity....

    Memories \by kjc

    IF YOU'VE ENOUGH BAD MEMORIES
    FOR GENERATIONS TO COME
    PLEASANT ONES ARE SCARCE
    IT'S TIME TO MAKE SOME.
    FILL YOUR HEAD WITH JOY
    NOT SELF DOUBT.
    MAKE SOME GOOD MEMORIES
    AND CROWD THE OTHERS OUT.
IF YOU NEVER HAD A CHANCE
    TO ENJOY BEING A CHILD
    OPPORTUNITY IS KNOCKING
    ESCAPE FOR A WHILE.

    Memories Of The Future
    written by KJC
    The Future
    Is Not The Way
    I Remembered It
It's Blurring, Going Out Of Focus
    Distorting Into Something
    Entirely Different
    From What It Should Be
As It Was Meant To Be
    I See Things Collapsing
    Into A Singularity
    Of Infinite Clarity
    And All I See
    Is Nothing

    Moon message

I step outside to cool my head
the moon is full and bright
reflecting on the new fallen snow
    it's cool healing light
I pause in the cold crisp night
    my thoughts turn unto you
and the fact that you're not here
    turns my mood to blue
    I miss your smile,your laugh,your voice
    and your body sweet
I know that until we meet again
    my life won't be complete
So I send to you my love
    bounced off the silvery moon
    until the time we reconnect
I know it will be soon
    I can't live without you
All I can do is survive
until the day you come to me
    and make me come alive

    the affirmation

the moon shines through my window
and the beams cross the floor
    to where we lie entanged
    across the bed once more
    the light from the heavens
    shines now where we lie
giving the blessings of the gods
to this union of you and I
    Let no one draw assunder
what we have now here wrought
this love that we have forged here
    is not lightly bought
it is forged in despair of the past
    with all the future's desires
    hopes, plans. and dreams
and cast into the heart's fire..
the cool glow of the moonlight
    temper it until it's strong
    enough to last absences
    caused by all the wrongs
that life has dumped upon us
    until we get things right
My dearest one hold on to
    the memory of this night

    Yearning

Restless,I toss and turn in my lonely bed,
With only your vision dancing in my head,
    But you are not here.
I lie and dream in fits and starts,
Wanting you to calm my heart,
    But you are not here.

My eyes open with a jerk,
And curse the sleep that doesn't work,
    Because you are gone.
Although it's cool,my hair is wet
    Dampened by a feverish sweat,
    Because you are gone.

I get up and change the bed,
Pass the mirror,my eyes are red,
For I know you won't be back.
I take a shower to relieve
    Muscles that quake like leaves,
For I know you won't be back.

I lay back down and try again
    To sleep.But as just as I do,then
    You come back to me.
And as the tolling of a bell,
    I'm released from my hell,
For you came back to me.

    My Special Love
He came to me late one night
    Not knowing who he was
I knew he was mister right
My heart just felt so right

His eyes were dark as was his skin
I new right away that I wanted him
He spoke to me with a voice so bold
    I new I needed him

My body was hot and wanting
Beads of sweat I could see on him
His body so nice and sheen
I wanted to let him in

    His fingers caressing my body
    Opening my legs so wide
My lips open his finger slides inside
    Wet, waiting and wanting

    Our bodies entwine as one
Explosion of passion is what we want
Is this Love that brought me here
    Sad and so broken hearted
He told me this is not what I want

This special man with the dark eyes and skin
    Walked out of my life
    Just like he walked in
