Had the bankers in Quebec not been male Chauvinist pigs back in the early 70s, I could have bought that house for $45,000. I had a good job, but I was a single woman. The bastards turned me down.

That is what you see when you drive through the Rocky Mountains from Banff to Jasper. That's my back yard! LOL!

Well I can see why you'd get Foehn winds (Chinooks) there.

Sorry Essex, I don't live at that building in the opening post. The other half is employed there. It's nice having access to the roof for viewing purposes.

The Rockies are roughly 60 miles away from Calgary. The Bow river flows east from the mountains and its valley is a natural highway for wildlife. Let's not forget that 60 miles is just a short walk for most animals. The Bow flows just 400 yards away from my house and my side of the valley is a park. We don't see large herds of elk, moose or deer females around here, but it's only a matter of time before we do.
Then, maybe, I won't have to mow the lawn anymore!

The back yard post cards are already available (they have been for years). The Inn is gaining fame. The owner is a fabulous chef. The area is also beautiful. I have some pictures I will post soon. The only drawback is that if you don't speak French, you might have a rough time communicating.
