Not only different to anything else on release at the time; it's so much better than anything else released at that time.

Did you know the famous drum solo was not part of the original music ?

It came from a sound check and Phil Collins warming up before they recorded.

I was almost positive it was him...hmmm I'll have to look into it further, sounded like him though.....he was older, wider and greyer.....but I was sure it was him.

Lou Gramm and Foreigner perform at Centre 200 tonight.
I knew it was him because he kissed my hand, and I remember all the fuss over how he sounded the same as ever.

Don't judge me, you haven't walked in my shoes, or ridden on my broom.

WOW! You are a lucky woman, and the envy of thousands! lol One of my son in laws couldn't figure out why his friends kept making such a fuss when they heard that often, after school, he would go home and find Lou in his kitchen having coffee with Mom and Dad.

Now that you mention it, I remember reading that Mick Jones had invited him back just to do that tour...but while he still performs with his own band, he is keeping his touring to a minimum and says he will probably retire soon. (According to Lou, there is nothing sillier than seeing a bunch of "old farts" ...his words... prancing around on a stage.)

It was only this year that I heard Phil Collins in an interview and he told the story of how the sound recording person was setting up to get the right levels and the producer heard the " riff " and wanted it included in the song.

It was an off the cuff unrehearsed freestyle hit of the pig skins.

Great song with a good story behind it.

The good ones always think that way...sighs'. I personally enjoyed the concert, it brought me back to a time when my friends and I would listen to their album while babysitting...lol. Damn, he's not the only one who feels old...lol

I was really into Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. When my mother was visiting one day I put on the Bryan Ferry album and the song " these foolish things " came on, to my amazement my mother knew the words, she told me she remembered Frank Sinatra singing it.

From the follow-up album "Another Time, Another Place", I love his version of "Help me make it through the night"; starts slow and quiet and builds up throughout the track.

There's a few CD's that stay in the work ute, Bryan Ferry is one.

I get a few strange looks at traffic lights when I'm spotted singing along. My wife is just as bad she has a copy on her Iphone and sings along with most of his songs.

Timeless music and it will be around for many years to come.
