A nine-month-old Pakistani baby accused of attempted murder has gone into hiding in an attempt to avoid charges that could be, maybe, somewhat overblown.

Baby Musa Khan was charged with attempted murder along with his father and grandfather after a mob angered by gas cuts and price increases turned violent, throwing stones at police and gas employees trying to collect bills. Apparently, the baby was slapped with the charge when a victim complained that the whole family had beaten him up. The complaint was taken very literally.

The baby, out on bail, is supposed to return to court on April 12, but his grandfather, Muhamad Yasin, said the family hasn't decided yet whether to take him to court. According to Reuters, baby Musa hasn't been all that cooperative with police so far:

At his first appearance in court last week, Musa cried while his fingerprints were taken by a court official. Later, the baby sucked on a bottle of milk and tried to grab journalists' microphones as his grandfather spoke to the media. "He does not even know how to pick up his milk bottle properly, how can he stone the police?" Yasin asked journalists at the court last Thursday.

According to CNN, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ordered the suspension of the officer who registered the case against the baby. Still, Musa's family is taking no chance. Their lawyer said yesterday that "The police filed a wrong, false arrest charge sheet and brought this innocent 9-month-old into this court room for an appearance."

Next time you think about parking in front of a fire hydrant, keep this BMW in mind.

The owner took a gamble, perhaps thinking, "What are the chances they'll actually need to use the hydrant, right?"

Well, Wednesday night, an eight-alarm fire broke out across the street from where the car was parked and the Boston Fire Department did not hesitate to bust through the car windows to weave their hoses from the hydrant straight towards the flames.

Keeping the hose in a straight line helps maintain the water pressure.

The bad parking job triggered an uproar online as many were disgusted at the driver's poor choice to block the fire hydrant.

"Some jackass parked his BMW in front of a fire hydrant in the city of Boston," one person tweeted. "The firefighters showed him how they felt."

Another tweeting, "This is why you MUST NOT park your #BMW in front of a fire hydrant."

The Boston Fire department did not take the situation lightly, either.

"The general reaction is that some people find humor in it," Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald told The Boston Globe. "But it's really a serious situation. That water supply is the lifeblood of the engine company. The engine carries 750 gallons - and that could be gone in just two minutes. With that number of alarms, every hydrant is important."

Because of the way the BMW was parked blocking the hose from being able to be straightened for optimum pressure flow, MacDonald said it slowed the volume of water towards the flames which eventually left about 30 people displaced.

"It's similar to those who park in a handicapped spot," he explained. "It's just something you don't do."

In Boston, it is illegal to park within 10 feet of a fire hydrant, with most states across the country enforcing 10 to 15 feet as well. The driver was ticketed and the car had been moved by this morning.

Seven families were displaced in the inferno of the wooden building which was believed to be triggered by strong winds.

Police say man with no hands and no legs is armed and on the run.

Authorities in Florida are searching for an armed quadruple amputee who's reportedly been on the run since Tuesday, hoping to question him about his involvement in a double murder.

Sean Petrozzino, 30, reportedly lost his legs, hands and parts of his arms to bacterial meningitis years ago. Police say he moved in with his parents last week after separating from his wife amidst some serious financial issues.

Both of his parents were both found dead Tuesday morning after Sean's mother, Nancy Petrozzino, failed to show up for her job as a schoolteacher.

Sean Petrozzino was last seen on an ATM surveillance camera Tuesday morning. Although police say he's currently a "person of interest" and not an official suspect in the double murder, a spokesperson did caution that he's armed with a gun.

"armed with a gun" seems a bit strange, given the circumstances ~ but it doesn't say, if he had false arms/hands fitted due to his illness....no doubt time will tell

8-Year-Old Charged For Sexual Conduct With Sitter

KUTV, CBS Broadcasting, Salt Lake City, U.S.A., July 28, 2005

(KUTV) SALT LAKE CITY, Utah A mother is upset after a 14-year-old babysitter engaged in sexual conduct with her eight-year-old boy, and the eight-year-old was charged with lewd conduct.

Prosecutors have since dropped the charges against the boy, but his mother is still concerned.

The sexual conduct occurred during a game of "truth or dare" while the boy was being watched by the babysitter.

Prosecutors say that, while the babysitter initiated the contact, the young boy was a willing participant.

"She dared my son to touch her breasts," says Michelle Grosbeck, the boy's mother.

After hiring the teenager to baby sit, Grosbeck got the feeling something was wrong.

"It was just that sense that something wasn't quite right with this 14-year-old girl," she said. She asked her son what had happened. "He just came right out as if nothing was awry, and just started talking about what had happened."

Grosbeck went to police and child protection workers, and the case went to the district attorney, after which her son, age eight, had been charged with an act of lewdness with a minor.

Grosbeck says the Salt Lake County District Attorney told her both the child and teenager were equal participants. But Mrs. Grosbeck didn't believe that.

"My son is eight, he's a little boy. He does not have the ability to participate on the same level as a fourteen-year-old," she said.

Although the charges against her son were dropped, she is concerned that the same thing could happen to other victims of sexual abuse.

"I don't want parents to be afraid to go to the state agencies that are supposed to be protecting our children when things like this happen, out of fear that their children are going to be charged

The district attorney's office confirmed the charges had been made,
and that they had been dropped. Other than that, they wouldn't comment. The Division of Child and Family Services also declined to comment.

Why are some people allowed to breed? Sexual instincts start long before puberty.

This might be, but if the ages would have been reversed, everyone would have been screaming to lock him away as a rapist. As it sits, society sits there and does little to females who sexually abuse younger males; reverse the genders, and there is an outcry for the male's head on a platter. Fact: if a 37 year old male goes after a thirteen year old girl, he gets 25 years; 37 year old woman does the same to a thirteen year old boy, she gets maybe 2 years? Rape is rape, regardless of the gender or age. Yes, an 8 y/o is curious about the opposite sex; that does not give anyone the right to start educating them in this manner. Fact:40% of males incarcerated on sex related crimes were sexually abused by women when they were children. I pray this boy doesn't fall in this group

Now let me tack the wheels back on the soap box, and send it back into the derby

When I was a young teenager, a girlfriend of mine was taking up jobs as a babysitter. One day, she told me she was practicing French kissing on a two year old boy. At that time, I did not even have a clue about what that was about. Who knows what else she was doing with that boy!

And yes, there are women who lure young boys. Best place for it is being a teacher. We have a current case here of one female teacher having an affair with a 15 year old boy. She broke parole and contacted him again. She is back in jail.

But the iffy part is when young men and women are falling in love. Hormones are running rampant. The attraction is strong. Yet, the rules dictate that you must be at a specific age to engage in sex. Many centuries ago, marrying age was between 12 and 16 years old.

In some countries, it still applies, worse yet, in some countries, 8 year old girls marry 20 year old men.

The only difference between humans and beast is that humans are supposed to have a higher functional brain. Obviously, that does not apply to some humans.

Yes it does, and but teachers are not the only culprits; they are the most visible. The two main problems are that society doesn't bother to train the boys that this conduct is wrong, and the penalties for the women are no where near what they are for the men. When the boys tell someone, most of the time people will slap him on the back and say he is lucky. I never heard someone tell a girl get told the same thing under the same circumstances. When the woman is caught with a young boy, the papers said she"had an affair." Justice never was more blind.

I agree when the hormones are flying and kids are confusing love and lust, things get confused. It is just now that guys are realizing that No means No also works for them. Now to get some of the girls to stop pressing when they hear No.Sexual harassment has come full circle. There have been reports that the guys were cohersed into sex by use of alcohol, unwanted touching, and being accused of being gay until they gave in. Yes it wasn't that long ago(100-120 years at most) it was legal to get married that young, but the life expectancy was maybe 38-45. That was then, this is now. Eight year olds getting married to twenty year olds is just ridiculous, regardless of the culture.

Many of those carbon based life forms stopped to think and failed to start again.
