    You certainly ain't short of subjects for practicing with your camera. Nice set of shots; keep at it, a new camera takes a while to get used to.

    Char, just a little thing I do with photos is take them into PSP, go to adjust - Sharpness - Unsharp Mask and you can play with the settings but these below normally cover most things. I haven't got an eye for a good photo so maybe I'm talking bollocks...




    And the photo with unsharp mask applied below.

    Yep ~ Kip beat me to it ~ I don't put any shot into my albums before I put it through some adjustment in PSP ~ even if it's just a simple crop ~ I have played with this shot of yours as well, slightly different way to Kip, but still all in PSP..



    I haven't much time to get out and about with the camera ~ so understand what you mean about getting to know it, the first thing to remember is that it's recording a moment [often an important one] so having got that and being able to keep that memory 'live' then the technical bits follow to make them 'pro' looking ~ so your set you have just posted is just wonderful because they all record 'that moment'.
