Well done darlin' girl ~ never seen one before ~ do remember seeing an old stove in use at a farm years back, but they had a sort of bent flat two prong thing to lift the plates ~ still great stoves though............

    Congrats

We had an asortment of them used on the kitchen wood burning stove (yes we did have gas though)
and for a pot belly one in the dinning/living room. Also some like this for when the ice shanty was on the lake we had a really small potbelly one in there. I swear some times had to leave the door open cause it got so hot in there. Thank goodness it did sit 8 inches off the ice and had a medal plate under it. HA!

Great job, Squirt! I would never have guessed it...it doesn't appear strong enough to do the job. I have cooked on 3 (kitchen type) wood stoves and used several pot-bellied stoves, but they all had handles that looked like these...

Does anyone know if the differences are due to manufacturer, the age of the stove, or something else?
