No longer a regular hospital outpatient!

Heart rate still too fast, but blood pressure down somewhat.

Have to see the nurse at my Doctor's surgery on Thursday evening, then hopefully my warfarin doses will be week-by-week rather than day-by-day.

March 1

I've dropped out of the required range on my INR, so I'll have to visit the duty nurse at my doctor's surgery tomorrow to see if an increased warfarin dose has stabilised it, before I go for my echo scan.

The echo only took a few minutes, but I'll have to wait for notification of the result.

7 March

Saw the doctor yesterday, just to make sure both he and I knew the current state of play.

My blood pressure is OK now, but my heart rate is still too fast and somewhat erratic.

I have yet to hear the result of my echo scan on Friday.

The doc thinks giving me cardioversion (an electric shock) is still the most likely outcome, as long as the echo result is OK.

The nurses are having difficulty getting my warfarin dose right - they keep putting my dose up, but my INR reading is still going down - next test on Friday morning.

Oh, one more thing - I'm sleeping very well, for the first time in years, but I also tire very easily; by 9pm I've normally dozed off. I haven't used an alarm clock in years, but use one now at 11pm to wake me up to take the last pill of the day!

This means I've given up doing the pub quiz for now - I just haven't got the energy or will power for it at the moment.

...and another thing; I've been trying out alcohol free beers. There was a time when there was only one choice in the UK - the revolting tasting Kaliber.

I bought a crate of 24 bottles of a dozen different types; most are at least drinkable, although I have found one utterly foul wheat beer which tastes like warm plastic.

Holsten 0.05% Pils is by far the best of the light beers, followed by Bitburger.

The best dark beer (by general consensus), Bernard, is unfortunately currently not in stock until next week, so I haven't been able to try that yet, but there are two others, Cheers Dark and Super Bock Stout, which are palatable.

Giles, the landlord of The Albert, is going to try and get hold of some alcohol free stuff on my recommendation, so it looks like Holsten and Bernard, if he can find a supplier.

Well thanks for that mate ~ think I should be trying some of them out as well ~ stick with it ~ all I wanted to find was a beer [like a real ale] that was non alcho ~ but the tastes of the stuff they have is dreadful ~ will look out for the ones you have said ~ take care now ~ you are still in my thoughts and prayers
