Your figures are from climate scientists not climate sceptics.

66% as a poll should be able to change attitudes in government and individuals.
Umm... how could climate sceptics only score 50/50? Surely it would be 0/100?

Sceptics = climate change due to industrialisation has 0 % recognition factor.

To make a real change we need to be more conservative in the way we burn fossil fuel in all its forms.

The South Australian state government recently installed 100-megawatt lithium ion battery, powered by solar panels. Another two Tesla batteries are being installed now.

It can be done, we will be relying on coal for many years to come, we should be encouraging research into renewable energy sources.

When the future generations have to leave planet Earth because it is no longer habital they will take the technology with them.

Middle Ages were warmer than today, say scientists
By Robert Matthews, Science Correspondent
12:01AM BST 06 Apr 2003
Claims that man-made pollution is causing "unprecedented" global warming have been seriously undermined by new research which shows that the Earth was warmer during the Middle Ages.
From the outset of the global warming debate in the late 1980s, environmentalists have said that temperatures are rising higher and faster than ever before, leading some scientists to conclude that greenhouse gases from cars and power stations are causing these "record-breaking" global temperatures.
Last year, scientists working for the UK Climate Impacts Programme said that global temperatures were "the hottest since records began" and added: "We are pretty sure that climate change due to human activity is here and it's accelerating."
This announcement followed research published in 1998, when scientists at the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia declared that the 1990s had been hotter than any other period for 1,000 years.
Such claims have now been sharply contradicted by the most comprehensive study yet of global temperature over the past 1,000 years. A review of more than 240 scientific studies has shown that today's temperatures are neither the warmest over the past millennium, nor are they producing the most extreme weather - in stark contrast to the claims of the environmentalists.
a team from Harvard University, examined the findings of studies of so-called "temperature proxies" such as tree rings, ice cores and historical accounts which allow scientists to estimate temperatures prevailing at sites around the world.
The findings prove that the world experienced a Medieval Warm Period between the ninth and 14th centuries with global temperatures significantly higher even than today.
They also confirm claims that a Little Ice Age set in around 1300, during which the world cooled dramatically. Since 1900, the world has begun to warm up again - but has still to reach the balmy temperatures of the Middle Ages.
The timing of the end of the Little Ice Age is especially significant, as it implies that the records used by climate scientists date from a time when the Earth was relatively cold, thereby exaggerating the significance of today's temperature rise.
According to the researchers, the evidence confirms suspicions that today's "unprecedented" temperatures are simply the result of examining temperature change over too short a period of time.
The study, about to be published in the journal Energy and Environment, has been welcomed by sceptics of global warming, who say it puts the claims of environmentalists in proper context. Until now, suggestions that the Middle Ages were as warm as the 21st century had been largely anecdotal and were often challenged by believers in man-made global warming.
Dr Philip Stott, the professor emeritus of bio-geography at the University of London, told The Telegraph: "What has been forgotten in all the discussion about global warming is a proper sense of history."
According to Prof Stott, the evidence also undermines doom-laden predictions about the effect of higher global temperatures. "During the Medieval Warm Period, the world was warmer even than today, and history shows that it was a wonderful period of plenty for everyone."
In contrast, said Prof Stott, severe famines and economic collapse followed the onset of the Little Ice Age around 1300. He said: "When the temperature started to drop, harvests failed and England's vine industry died. It makes one wonder why there is so much fear of warmth."
The United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the official voice of global warming research, has conceded the possibility that today's "record-breaking" temperatures may be at least partly caused by the Earth recovering from a relatively cold period in recent history. While the evidence for entirely natural changes in the Earth's temperature continues to grow, its causes still remain mysterious.
Dr Simon Brown, the climate extremes research manager at the Meteorological Office at Bracknell, said that the present consensus among scientists on the IPCC was that the Medieval Warm Period could not be used to judge the significance of existing warming.
Dr Brown said: "The conclusion that 20th century warming is not unusual relies on the assertion that the Medieval Warm Period was a global phenomenon. This is not the conclusion of IPCC."
He added that there were also doubts about the reliability of temperature proxies such as tree rings: "They are not able to capture the recent warming of the last 50 years," he said.

we agree to disagree
my point is:
NOT ALL Scientists agree
the earth has been changing since it was formed and there is not a thing man can do to change it or stop it
and governments are using it as a way to collect more money through carbon taxes

GLOBAL WARMING: FAKE NEWS FROM THE START
DECEMBER 20, 2017
By Tom Harris, Timothy Ball
Senator Tim Wirth, scientist James Hansen and others manufactured the climate “crisis”

President Donald Trump announced that the United States would withdraw from the Paris Agreement on climate change because it is a bad deal for America.
He could have made the decision simply because the science is false. However, most of the American and global public have been brainwashed into believing the science is correct (and supported by the faux 97% consensus), so they would not have believed that explanation.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and indeed the leaders of many western democracies, support the Agreement and are completely unaware of the gross deficiencies in the science. If they understood those deficiencies, they wouldn’t be forcing a carbon dioxide (CO2) tax on their citizens.
Trudeau and other leaders show how little they know, and how little they assume the public knows, by calling it a “carbon tax” on “carbon emissions.” But CO2 is a gas, the trace atmospheric gas that makes life on Earth possible. Carbon is a solid, and carbon-based fuels are solid (coal), liquid (oil) or gaseous (natural gas).
By constantly railing about “carbon emissions,” Trudeau, Obama and others encourage people to think of carbon dioxide as something “dirty,” like soot, which really is carbon. Calling CO2 by its proper name would help the public remember that it is actually an invisible, odorless gas essential to plant photosynthesis.
Canadian Environment Minister Catherine McKenna is arguably the most misinformed of the lot, saying in a recent interview that “polluters should pay.” She too either does not know that CO2 is not a pollutant, or she is deliberately misleading people.
Like many of her political peers, McKenna dismisses credentialed PhD scientists who disagree with her approach, labelling them “deniers.” She does not seem to understand that questioning scientific hypotheses, even scientific theories, is what all scientists should do, if true science is to advance.
That is why the Royal Society’s official motto is “Nullius in verba,” Latin for “Take nobody's word for it.” Ironically, the Society rarely practices this approach when it comes to climate change.
Mistakes such as those made by McKenna are not surprising, considering that from the outset the entire claim of anthropogenic global warming (AGW) was built on falsehoods and spread with fake news.
The plot to deceive the world about human-caused global warming gathered momentum right after the World Meteorological Organization and United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) created the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1988.
After spending five days at the U.N. with Maurice Strong, the first executive director of UNEP, Hamilton Spectator investigative reporter Elaine Dewar concluded that the overarching objective of the IPCC was political, not scientific. “Strong was using the U.N. as a platform to sell a global environment crisis and the global governance agenda,” she wrote.
The political agenda required “credibility” to accomplish the deception. It also required some fake news for momentum. Ideally, this would involve testimony from a scientist before a legislative committee.
U.S. Senator Timothy Wirth (D-CO) was fully committed to the political agenda and the deception. As he explained in a 1993 comment, “We’ve got to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing.…”
In 1988 Wirth was in a position to jump-start the climate alarm. He worked with colleagues on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to organize and orchestrate a June 23, 1988 hearing where the lead witness would be Dr. James Hansen, then the head of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Wirth explained in a 2007 interview with PBS Frontline:
“We knew there was this scientist at NASA, who had really identified the human impact before anybody else had done so and was very certain about it. So, we called him up and asked him if he would testify.”
Hansen did not disappoint. The New York Times reported on June 23, 1988: “Today Dr. James E. Hansen of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration told a Congressional committee that it was 99 percent certain that the warming trend was not a natural variation, but was caused by a buildup of carbon dioxide and other artificial gases in the atmosphere.”
Specifically, Hansen told the committee, “Global warming has reached a level such that we can ascribe with a high degree of confidence a cause and effect relationship between the greenhouse effect and observed warming…. It is already happening now.”
Hansen also testified: “The greenhouse effect has been detected, and it is changing our climate now…. We have already reached the point where the greenhouse effect is important.”
Wirth, who presided at the hearing, was pre-disposed to believe Hansen and told the committee. “As I read it, the scientific evidence is compelling: the global climate is changing as the earth's atmosphere gets warmer,” Wirth said. “Now the Congress must begin to consider how we are going to slow or halt that warming trend, and how we are going to cope with the changes that may already be inevitable.”
More than any other event, that single hearing before the Energy and Natural Resources Committee publicly initiated the climate scare, the biggest deception in history. It created an unholy alliance between a bureaucrat and a politician, which was bolstered by the U.N. and the popular press – leading to the hoax being accepted in governments, industry boardrooms, schools and churches all across the world.
Dr. John S. Theon, Hansen’s former supervisor at NASA, wrote to the Senate Minority Office at the Environment and Public Works Committee on January 15, 2009. “Hansen was never muzzled, even though he violated NASA’s official agency position on climate forecasting (i.e., we did not know enough to forecast climate change or mankind’s effect on it). Hansen thus embarrassed NASA by coming out with his claims of global warming in 1988 in his testimony before Congress.”
Hansen never abandoned his single-minded, unsubstantiated claim that CO2 from human activities caused dangerous global warming. He defied Hatch Act limits on bureaucratic political actions, and in 2011 even got arrested at a White House protest against the Keystone XL pipeline. It was at least his third such arrest to that point.
Like Trudeau and other leaders duped by the climate scare, Senator Wirth either had not read or did not understand the science. In fact, an increasing number of climate scientists (including Dr. Ball) now conclude that there is no empirical evidence of human-caused global warming. There are only computer model speculations that humans are causing it, and every forecast made using these models since 1990 has been wrong – with actual temperatures getting further from predictions with every passing year.
President Trump must now end America’s participation in the fake science and fake news of manmade global warming. To do this, he must withdraw the U.S. from further involvement with all U.N. global warming programs, especially the IPCC, as well as the agency that now directs it – the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. He should also launch a “Red Team” exercise that lets non-alarmist scientists examine climate cataclysm claims and the purported evidence for them.
Only then will the U.S. have a chance to fully develop its hydrocarbon resources to achieve the president’s goal of global energy dominance and long-term prosperity for America and the world

Scientific thinking on climate change has altered a lot in the 15 years since that was published.

Unfortunately not everyone keeps up to date with current scientific trends.

I believe the eco/scientists.

Personal observation, weeks of temperatures close 30 c. drop today to 15 c. with a fall of dirty snow and dirty rain with wild wind changes.

Today, a HOT west smokey dust storm blew in from Central Australia, just as a freakish storm blew in a low presure system from Antartica that dumped snow 100 kilometres from here, this after the start of Spring saw my cheery tree blossom turn to fruit and then be sun burnt before the fruit could gain any size.

Strange days indeed !

You could post more unbiased evidence but ignorance is bliss, climate deniers have a can’t see the forest for the trees type mentality.

I posted personal anecdotes about snow on the alps a couple of weeks back, not that much out f the ordinary. What was out of the ordinary was the major bushfire an hour or two drive away at the ame time. The Antarctic winds, not usual, blew gale force winds over Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales, UNUSUALLY at the same time a high pressure cell of hot air came across our Continent from Western Australia and it met tropical dry winds from the north, that stalled the system over the Alps, yes we do have decent ski resorts in the Alpine region not to far from where I live, dumped snow there and then the gale force winds blew off the Alps and drove the fires from several fronts.

Similar conditions today, gale force winds from the Antarctic has hit a wall of hot air over NSW that formed once again from a westerly blowing hot dry air into a tropical system easing it’s way further south than normal.

We needed the rain here in Canberra it’s a good thing.

Not so good in Sydney where rail lines are flooded, freeways flooded, airport closed down, government workers told to work from home, school warnings of closures and.............. in Queensland 80 fires, ( yes folks, that’s 80 fires ) across the State of Queensland being fanned by dry tropical winds, now that is unusual, DRY. TROPICAL WINDS.

NOW...........A warning blares out across the tv screen of major flooding in Sydney and to come more information on the Qld. fires !

Another personal observation

Members of this board who cut and paste their way through a debate add nothing to the discussion.

Personal Observation.

Some people are like rodents, they hop on a wheel to exercise their rights to ignore the facts.

In the past 25 years our family farm has been hit with 3 x 100 year flood, rain events.

Once again tropical heat, wind and rain is being sucked down the Eastern Coast of Australia where it has meet a cold front generated once again in the Antarctic. Both systems meet, stall and drop record rain falls that should only happen every 100 years, like I said, 3 times in the last 25 years the approach to our family farm house has been flooded. At the moment the house and sheds are still sitting high and dry but you need a boat for the last mile or 2 before we can check the stock and get to put the kettle on.

It’s rather lovely having a lake front estate !

its all that hot air you keep spewing
You must be a little confused.

I live on the other side of the planet to you. I know some people believe in the butterfly effect but your stretching your credibility when you suggest I’m doing anything more than quietly and calmly making observations of a changing world climate......by posting messages.

Like this for instance.

Here, in the Southern Hemisphere it’s summer.

During the last 6 to 8 weeks we have had what I consider to be unseasonal weather conditions. For example, Spring here was dry and warm but at the end of Spring we had a cold wet snap, you might remember I posted about snow on them there mountains I see off in the distance.

Since then.

The ground temperature dropped and across the road from where I live in the suburbs, right now, we have mushrooms growing in summer.

In the 25 years I have lived here I have never seen field mushrooms grow in December.

Have a nice day and get your body temp down it helps you think more clearly.

thats funny you never seen mushrooms grow in december..after all it is summer there is it not..dont answer..i know it is
your seasons start the 1st day of the calendar month so your summer started on dec 1st

you believe in your so called global warming and i will believe what the facts have shown
with every prediction made by wanna be scientists...they have never hit their mark
but you keep right on believing them and pay the high environmental taxes that only profit the governments
without doing a thing in the end

good video ..but it is only what she has been taught since the day she could understand words..taught only one view
the schools dont teach how the world goes through cycles and has been doing so since it was formed..kids are taught what to think...not how to think and have been since the 90's even in the 80's schools stopped real learning...thank God my kids would talk about what they were taught each day in school so i seen it first hand what the school system is doing to control the minds of young impressionable people and now my grand-kids are are having to endure it..talking with them i can see just how political and closed minded the school system has become and will continue to get even worse with each generation
she is one of the many puppets being controlled by the propaganda of the environmentalist sect and political agendas..that is a form of brainwashing

like i said before..you believe what you want and i will believe in the knowledge i have from thinking for myself...if you really think about what you were taught in school as a child in the 50's 60's 70's and even the 80's...you will see the point i am making and why to me it is all just propaganda
and a way to charge more for what we need everyday...making governments more money off the taxpayers backs

look i am not trying to change your beliefs ..and believe me you wont change mine..look at the past... all through history is where the truth is
