I have been posting in my favorite fantasy thread, but when the picture is a gif file, I get a messege that the pic. is to large. I don't know how to make them smaller. Any advice?

how are you posting them?
are you hot linking ... copying the image location then pasting it into the post?

Well, yes. The images are uploaded to here if you do them from your PC, so it's an uploader. If they're from elsewhere on the internet they are not uploaded here, just linked via the url.

1.81MB was too big also

Looks like the limit is around 1MB then. Anything larger will need to be on an external uploader such as imgur and accessed via a url link.

All I have been doing was tap the rectangle pic. and it lets me download pictures. But most of the gif files end up not being posted because I get messg. the file is too large. I don't have a problem wit regular piks.

the pics are in your pic folder, right?
you should be able to place your cursor ON the pic, and it will give you the dimensions of the pic
you might have to move your mouse around a little to get it to show up
you're looking for the size in bytes ... anything bigger than 1MB will not download
it needs to say kb ... like 804kb ... and it should post

If you want to post larger gif files you would need to use an uploader such as imgur. You do not need an account on imgur to use the uploader and once you know how to link the images it is quite simple.
