Hey there, roo-mates.
Ever got to the point where you are wondering why you're still alive? I'm reaching it right now. Sick and tired of being sick and tired. Recently went through major surgery. I thought all would be good afterwards. They used opiates when I specifically told them I can't handle the stuff. As a result I ended up with atrial fibrillation, which means I'm going to be followed up by a bunch of so-called specialists for a while.

Seriously?
I had to wait 7 months before I had the surgery. Now, I have to go through another damn period of appointments because they didn't listen to me.

Angry? Pissed off? Ready to call it quits? Choose any of the above.

As someone who's been through both atrial flutter and atrial fibrilation, if your medical professionals have anywhere near the procedures they have over here it could take a while to fix. Don't get impatient with it, there is a reason these things are done that way: taking shortcuts is a good way to kill the person they are trying to cure.

You'll almost certainly be given even more drugs to control the a-fib, and getting the dose and the drug right can take some time, but they really are doing it in your best interest. I hope they can stabilise your heart without having to operate again, but if you do end up having surgery I pray it goes as well for you as it did for me.

Hang in there Sylvie, I'm praying for a quick resolution for you but you do need to be patient if it takes some time.

we know why they call it "practicing medicine" lol :zebrahug:
that whole ordeal my son went through was caused by surgery, sometimes the fix is worse than the problem
a simple example is they gave me hormones to help with the hot flashes, and by the time we reached a dose that actually impacted the hot flashes, my feet started swelling lol
I'd rather have the hot flashes! lol :whew:
I agree with Bamber, I don't think it's a coincidence that patients sounds exactly like patience lol
wrapping you up in prayer and love!
