and we know conditions didn't get better, they've gotten worse

And your point is? Yes, things have got uch worse for the average citizen. This means it is less likely that the ruling class, for whom things are good, are likely to with to liberalise and let the population know what is possible,

what good is a ruling class if there's nobody left to rule?
my point is, and was, and has been all along, that the path Kim has been on has been killing his people, and if it continues, there will be no people, just rulers
something else you may not understand, women who are starving and living in fear have difficulty getting pregnant, and difficulty carrying to term

how's he going to keep his army stocked?
