I had to go out at lunch time and it was still there. The river was still in full spate, and despite some blue patches in the sky I was getting rained on: it's been a day of short, heavy, squally showers.
Today there are rapidly passing showers (I got caught by 2 during my 20 minute walk to work). One upside of dull mornings at this time of year is that it helps highlight any Christmas lights about. This is the sight I see walking along Castle Street, with the castle just visible in the background. I must admit I like the look of Claremont Villa all year round.
For at least the last 10 years the Totnes Christmas lights have been supplied, installed and maintained by two local businesses but it seems this may be the last time they do so (local government pays for the electricity).
The clouds were really flying past in the strong south-westerly wind and following the second shower that caught me a large clear patch appeared, showing a fingernail of moon above clouds to the south backlit by the rising sun.
agreed ... one of the things I love about this time of year is watching lights appear where there weren't any before every trip home from work is a fresh delight ... besides the fact that I'm heading home lol
A light frost this morning. As I walked towards the railway station there was quite a mist, but I passed through it as I walked through the parking area and there was hardly any when I reached the river.
